Eight Elephants and Dreaming Dragon Hostel is located just down the street from a metro going all across Taipei City, making it easy to explore from here. Property Information:
Eight Elephants & Dreaming Dragon is a warm, friendly, cozy place for all kinds of travelers. No matter you are just short-term backpacking or long-term studying/working in Taipei. Welcome to stay in Eight Elephants & Dreaming Dragon with us. It is more like a homestay than a regular hostel. Our Hostel is guarded by several friendly, family-oriented staff. =)
**WE DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS**
**NTD cash (Taiwanese Dollars) is the only accepted form of payment on arrival.**
Check-in time : 10:00 - 22:00
Check-out time : 10:00 - 14:00
(If you need to check in/out at a different time please let us know!)
Please note:
1) We cannot take credit cards, in Cash and in Taiwanese Dollars only.
2) We do not have a lot of staff working in a day, but all the rooms should be ready before 17:00. You are welcome to hang out in our common area or come back later if your room is not ready. Thank you for understanding! =)
3) We are located on a very small side street, but in a really cool university area. Please print out our directions and map (in picture 5 / direction page) Feel free to call us from 9am to 10pm, if you need some help with the directions.

We've noticed that a lot of our guests come back to visit again and again and we think it's because they feel a part of our family. This place is definitely more than just a hostel. Our staff are passionate and we're more than happy to be your first friend in Taipei.

There's no reception area but we've got a comfy lounge where you can hang out with our staff and fellow travellers in a relaxed atmosphere. We especially love music around here and hope you do, too-we've got a guitar, ukulele and piano and there's always music playing here. You can even be our DJ if you want!
Thursdays we have a movie night and there are always other irregular events, too, with waffle parties, dinners, drinking sessions and dancing. We really work hard to make guests feel welcomed.Hostelworld Guests Say
Eight Elephants is by far the best hostel I have stayed at over the course of the last couple of years. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and tidy, and so are the showers and toilets: keep up the good work! One point of improvement could be to pay attention to who is staying there. In my opinion a hostel should be for young, dynamic people, and having people stay there who aren't, changes the whole dynamic for such a small hostel. But, overall a very nice and pleasant hostel to stay at.

Very friendly staff working here. Trina was especially sweet to us by leaving us with a cute note at our bed. Thanks Trina, our sweet little sister from Taiwan :). Do book the single or double private rooms if you want more peace and privacy. Our first night at the twin room brought us to the DD (Dreaming Dragon) apartment next door. It was really comfortable and quiet. The dormitory rooms are next to the living room and was pretty noisy at night. However, the beds are pretty comfortable.
