You get what you pay for at this hostel. The location is perfect, Mission street and its neighbor street Valencia is the definitively a place I want to live in the next time I'm in San Fran. -but maybe not in El Capitan, because I got bedbugs there:-/ The staff is nice in their way, the indian guy working the nightshift was really service minded, and made our stay a lot better!

Worst place I've ever stayed in. Gross, Ugly, smelly, dirty. Nothing about it was nice except that it was cheap. But you pay for quality in SF. I'll never stay there again and I recommend that you don;t either. I should have listened to the reviews online - but thought oh it won't be that bad. I was so wrong! THere might have been bed bugs there too! Yes it gets worse. Save yourself the trouble and spend extra $ to stay somewhere else.

You have bed bugs every where!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have bed bugs every where!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have bed bugs every where!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Tuesday, I am calling the Health inspector... Shame on you, shame on you!!!! If I get bed bugs at my home I am suing you!!! This was a horrible experience! The bed bugs are every where, in the pillows, on the head rest, and in between the mattresses!! I will never return!!!!

The neighbourhood was not that good, a lot of homeless and latino people. But, I haven't had trouble with them. The price and quality were a good match, and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. Furthermore, the location was not good, but it was close to the city center, and it doesn't take more that a few minutes to get downtown. All in all a cheap hostel close to downtown.

I checked out early from the hostel because I refused to sleep in a place with bedbugs. It's too bad refunds aren't available for lack of cleanliness. I don't think it's right that I should have to pay (however cheap it is) to get bitten by bugs. I'm also pretty sure I got ripped off because I ended up paying $42 for a single bed suite when I booked a cheaper double bed suite. I tried to explain this to the manager he couldn't understand what I was saying. He couldn't even find my booking.

We planned to stay in this hostel for three nights because it was very cheap and not so far from the centre of the city, but at the end we have stayed just one night and rather found more expensive motel. We had many reasons to leave earlier- bed bugs in hallways and in our room:(, very dirty rooms and bathrooms, the staff not nice(the older man at front desk yelled at us and also at one guy who was helping him), no free parking place near hostel. So we have to say:WE DONT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL!

I cannot recommend this hotel tp anyone that is looking for a place to stay in San Francisco. Not even the fact that one night costs only 12 Dollars can make it up to how bad this hotel is!!

DO NOT STAY HERE! It is so very dirty. The staff we extremely rude and yelled at customers. It looked as though the room had never been cleaned and the sheets had holes and were stained.

I'm well travelled and have stayed in lots of places which I consider to be a little edgy, but (especially seeing as I was travelling alone) found this too much. It appeared to be a run down hotel which was doubled up as a men's homeless shelter. It had a really wierd vibe to it. I went and found somewhere else to stay that night as I was on holiday and really didn't fancy a sleepless night. It may be fine for some, but a policeman's warning the next day that they are frequent visitors said itall
