The staff was very friendly. The facilities were quite rustic, the only tv on the property was not working durning our stay. The property was a bit difficult to find due to it's location on the beach, but once there it was amasing. We had a private room with an amasing view. The entire town has an extremely chill vibe including this location. However, for us that was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We really enjoyed the international staff and guests.

Superb! What a fantastic time we had at the Playa Suites. The view from our front window was spectacular - this hostel is right on the beach. Our room was clean and well equipped, the staff friendly and helpful and appreciated them speaking both Spanish and English. Loved the side trips (horseback rides at dusk especially). Food and fun at the restaurant was the best and reasonable. I would highly recommend making your reservation for a stay at El Diablo Tranquilo Playa Suites.

Best hostel experience anywhere we have ever stayed. Classy, clean and well equipped. International staff who speak both English and Spanish were very helpful and led us to interesting spots in the village. The view out our window was phenomenal! A short walk down the boardwalk (the only hostel right on the beachfront) and we had the choice of beaches to visit. So nice to have the restaurant available - good food and good prices. We will definitely be returning to EDT Playa Suites.

Great hostel. Perfect location in such a beautiful town. Helpful and friendly staff. We have stayed at the hostel once before and both times we loved it. Great for meeting people and a fantastic place to just relax by the ocean. Not sure about some of the terrible reviews below! This place is clean, charming and lots of fun. Highly recommended.

I had an amazing time in the hostel Diabo Tranquilo. I booked a Suite which was just wonderful. The rooms are big and nicely decorated with your own bathroom. Staff brings breakfast to your room. The hostel is directly at the beach and has a nice terrace to hang out. The bar is lovely and you can eat a different meal every night. I liked the vibe in Diabo Tranquilo and the friendly staff. Went horseback riding twice to the national park Santa Teresa and extended my stay to 8 nights.

Thought everything was great. Was a long few days of traveling and to get to a place and feel comfortable felt really great. Staff was very accommodating whenever I needed it. The rooms were clean. Bathrooms were clean. Ambiance was fantastic. Met some great people in my short stay. Definitely recommend!

Great location, amazing views. We stayed in a private double - comfortable bed and private balcony. Breakfast could be served in your room. Only complaint was the curtains didn't cover the windows and were quite thin.

There was no hot water in the girls bathroom. The staff was clueless on everything including bus schedules. The kitchen is only available for use up till 4 pm and was quite dirty.

dirty sheets and towels, bad ventilated room (no window to open), we couldn´t sleep because of loud shouts from the bar till 5am and then from 8am the noisy building under construction just next to the hostel (without notice), poor breakfast related to what we paid, cold coffee, unpleasant fruits. We paid 105 US dollars per night for an ocean view room. I clearly dont recommend this hostel unless you are a low budget traveller as in that case you will get what you pay for...

This was my third time at El Diablo Tranquilo and it just keeps getting better. The previous two were at the original hostel and while Playa Suites was a bit noisier, the ammenities and location more than made up for it. American plugs and ocean breezes right into the room, step downstairs to have dinner with all the guests from both places and listen to live music? The atmosphere is what has kept me coming back and I'm sure I'll be back again.

The hostel was full of english speaking foreigners, even the staff at the hostel also english speaking travelers (they also spoke spanish but difficulty), since we speak spanish was kind of weird, if you are traveling alone or with friends it's a great place, if you are with your couple, it's a beautiful place, but not the best ambient.

This was billed as a lovely hostel on the beach, instead it was a dirty, loud, all night party. The bathroom looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, there were bugs everywhere and it was expensive!

This hostel is very noisy, since the rooms are just above the bar. The first night they played drums very loud until 5 am, it was absolutely impossible to sleep The rooms are very tiny, they are even mattress above the cupboard! If you can avoid going to this hostel, avoid it.

the suite was ugly, dirty, unsafe, no ventilation, no privacy, no view at a high price (U $ S 170 per night). the worst hostel I have visited among hostels in europe, asia and america This place discredits Hostelworld and I'm really angry, I think it should return me much of my money because it was a scam hosterworld should withdraw this place on your site

Nice hostel, but the bedroom windows did not open and in some bedrooms there was only a very little windows which did not open at all. Therefore the bedrooms were to hot, with no ventilation and lots of fans working 24x7. The staff does not seem to realize they have to work, and when they do... they are terrible. The restaurant takes ages to get your meal done, and many times they get confused or forget your order. The beer... always hoy, never cold enough to enjoy it.

No ventilation in our room, we thought we would suffer brain damage from lack of oxygen.

I really enjoyed my stay here, and would happily recommend this hostel to anyone visiting PdelD. There are three things to be aware of, though: The 9 bed dorm only has one fan and turns in to a sauna when it's warm at night; There isn't a kitchen in the hostel (but you can buy good, reasonably priced food in the bar, and there is one two blocks away), and you need to be careful when you add drinks to your bill that you're getting the price you expect. Good staff, clean hostel, amazing location.
