If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go. Their horses are beautiful and i realy enjoed my day riding on their farm. The kitchen-chill out area is lovely an homly. The rooms are great and have hot water in the showers. its far from he town and you need to get a taxi eachtime you want to go in which costs 8 Dollars. you can catch a bus to colonia from the neareast town. its a beautiful picturesque place and I really enjoed my time there.

Beautiful place to relax at for a few days. Monica was very kind to us. The room was comfortable, warm and clean. Make sure to have a sauna before going to bed! Would go back for horse riding during dryer months.

Excellent all round. Miguel and Monica were wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. With only 10 guests the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and sociable. The meals were very tasty and we particularly enjoyed the assado on our last night. The horseriding was very fun and unlike some other rides we've been on, Miguel actually gives you a short lesson before heading out and if you've ridden before you have a chance to go for a gallop! Highly reccommend this place!

El Galope is really a beautiful place to relax. We stayed for two nights in such a nice double room and loved the peace and atmosphere around us as well as in the lovely decorated common room. The horse ride lesson for beginners was amazing and Miguel was a great and also patient teacher. We felt comfortable and we would like to thank Monica and Miguel for the nice stay.

El Galope is nice and neat, Miguel and Monica are very kind & warm people and they love animals: horses, dogs, etc. No Wifi, no need for it. If you really need internet (flights, bookings, etc), you can use their desktop. El Galope is situated on the country side and it really is about horses and riding. If your not interested in neither, don't bother. But if you are - oh boy, go there! You will love it!

Galope's like you die and go to heaven. The horseriding is really cheap if you compare it to estancias and if you don't like horseriding you can do some serious relaxing here. The surroundings are beautiful and green. Quiet. Monica and Miguel (who run the hostel) go out of their way to make El Galope your home away from home, and they really succeed. Monica's cooking is amazing and the wine they get from their friend who makes wine is great to. I loved my stay and I would love to go back! GO!!!

I adored my short but sweet stay at El Galope last week. A friend and I needed some time away from the bustle of neighboring cities Montevideo and Buenos Aires, and El Galope provided just the respite we needed! My only regrets are that I didn't have longer to stay (was just there one night), and I didn't have the opportunity to enjoy their in-house dinner. In all, El Galope is a wonderful, self-sustaining oasis, and I’d be thrilled to someday return—though, next time for longer than one night!

Really a great place to just take some days off and see something else than cities. Monica and Miguel are really nice and do their work in the hostel and with the animals with a lot of love. You can observe a huge amount of stars at night and just relax during day or go horseriding. Only the bikes are in a really bad state, so it is difficult to get around, for example to the town Colonia Suiza. Definitely a place I will return coming back to Uruguay.
