Great stay at a beautiful country site, was great to see the stars again and remember to breathe. Also been a while since I've had fondue that good and lounged by a peaceful common room fire :)

El Galope is a gorgeous property set in delightful countryside. Staying there is like staying with family! We had a wonderful time at El Galope, didn't want to leave, and hope to be able to go back soon! Thank you!

We had an amazing time, Miguel and Monica are perfect hosts, they've thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable - nice, clean rooms with comfortable matresses, home cooked meals (for an extra price, or a kitchen to use in the afternoon if you want to cook yourself), lots of space to relax and a well put together list of extra activities (horse riding, bike hire, cheese tasting, hiking) if you are like us and prefer "active" recovery. Miguel's travel tips are great too!

100% We had a brilliant time at this hostel. The staff couldn't have made us fell more welcome. The rooms are lovely with very comfortable beds and really clean bathroom. We did the horse riding which was amazing and Monica's meals were amazing as was the local red wine! Would stay there again in a heart beat.

We had a fantastic stay at El Galope. The owners are so nice and accommodating making your stay here easy and relaxing. The rooms were clean, large and bright with fantastic hot showers and the kitchen / common area was really large and comfortable. Great for chatting fellow travellers. It felt like home away from home and I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.

This is one of the best hostels I stayed so far on this South American trip. Excellent place to relax after Montevideo or Buenos Aires. The countryside is quiet and beautiful. Monica and Miguel are perfect hosts and everything is very clean and cosy. Excellent value for money! Will definitely return here next time I'm in Uruguay!
