Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Although the breakfast wasn't excellent, the atmosphere and the people made up for it. Perhaps the bathroom trash cans need to be emptied more frequently.
Great place nice people and Andres was wonderful. Did miss a hammock somewhere !!!! Thank you
Beautiful hostel, and in a great location. The common areas did feel a bit tight, and the Internet was slow, but the beds and bathrooms were very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the pool was a great bonus!
The location was great,on walking distance to the main tourist locations. Staff is very friendly, but not very helpfull in the beginning, especially if you don`t speak good spanish. About the cleanliness: well, you better don't walk on your bare feet. One night someone didn't make it to the toilet and didn't bother to clean up the mess, the staff also didn't bother cleaning it up, they simply told me another bathroom ....
Fantastic place to stay for the night! The A/C was much appreciated and the small pool was quite nice.

The hostel is in a good location, however, the rooms aren't great, I stayed both in a 4 dorm and a 12 dorm, only because they mixed up the booking and so we got kicked out of the 4 dorm prematurely. You get free breakfast which is great and the plunge pool is refreshing after a day of exploring, however the roof terrace is dirty and not nice to sit at and there was no atmosphere, so not great for young travellers. Media Luna isn't in a great location in comparison but it's much funner!
The staff is not very helpful. They do answer your questions and help you but they demonstrate not to be enjoying. Specially in the morning. The pool is small but it is nice to have a place to chill since Cartagena is very hot. Showers are cold but it seems to be normal in the Colombian Caribean. El Genoves has breakfast included and is not a party hostel. The atmosphere ia ok but not that easy to make friends. There is a completely forgotten and unexplored rooftop!
What a great location. I can belive I could stay in a place like this. The place is beautiful.
Lovely hostel in an historic building. Great location in old city. Small pool, but big enough to cool off from the Cartagena heat. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Kitchen is well equipped although breakfast is very basic (cereal, bread and coffee). Air con at night only but we found this to be fine. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it as a great base for visiting Cartagena.
I absolutely loved this hostel!! The staff was so friendly and helpful. It was super clean, quiet, and cute. It is in the perfect location and super close in terms of walking distance from all the sights. Even though it was more quiet, I was still able to meet nice people. It was so nice having a pool to cool off in at the end of the day as well. The wifi isn't great in the rooms, but works much better in the area with TV. I highly recommend it!!
It is a good location in the Old Town. Andres the guy on might duty was very helpful to me with advice and in booking a flight and accommodation to my next destination.
The hostel is at a great location, and the building is nice. However the AC, which is so necessary in the dead heat of Cartagena only goes on after 9pm and shuts off at 10am, so for the other times, you'll have to find cool elsewhere. Heat is so strong that this really affects your stay at the location, so I'd highly recommend checking what time the AC is on at other hostels. The staff was not overly friendly and just doing their job so not really an experience to remember.
In the three hostel I've been in Cartagena it was definitively the best one! The employee are great and nice, and all are doing their best to speak english and facilitate your stay! It is right in the center of the town and the air cond is working great (2 per room)! Its really clean and the pool is so great in the heat of Cartagena!
Very well located, relaxed and friendly hostel, and in a stunning building. Cleanliness wasn't great, especially considering it's by no means the cheapest option in Cartagena - the last people's sheets were still on our beds when we arrived - but the staff were really helpful and it fits the bill if you're looking for somewhere quiet and central.
The staff where very helpful they told us places to go and set up are bus afterwards the place is nice with a clean pool with a bit much chlorine. I old highly recommend this place
I had a great stay here, made some friends, all that good stuff. The pool was nice for chillin, and the staff were very accommodating.
Loved this place! Pretty sure it is located on the most beautiful street in Cartagena! Friendly staff and clean facilities. Definitely a more relaxing atmosphere than other hostels in the city. Try the Argentinian restaurant around the corner.. It was amazing!
Outstanding location in a lovely restored historic building. The staff is capable and very helpful. The hostel is in a beautiful setting and all the sights are just steps away. Restaurants are in abundance, as is, for the shoestring travelers a great supermarket, where simple and hearty meals are served. There's an ATM, too. The only downside is that the plumbing in my ensuite room was getting very long in tooth. They also arranged for door to door transport to hostels in Santa Marta.
The hostel is in a beautiful building and has a nice pool. Didn't get the chance to swim in there, as it was packed with screaming, drunk 20-year-olds when I arrived. The nightguard didn't say anything. I left the hostel the next day.
Fantastic location and atmosphere! Fairly close to all historical/cultural spots. Good staff as well (specially Andres which is the funniest Colombian I have met on my trip)
