El Granado is a sanctuary. It's quiet, cool, and beautiful. It's also quite out of the way and really tricky to find, especially if you're walking from the train station--use the directions on their website, NOT GOOGLE MAPS. The location isn't as central as I would have liked--I didn't feel safe walking home there at night after around 11 and had to take cabs. It is not a very social hostel either, so if you're looking for a quiet retreat, it's perfect, but not a place to meet travel buddies.

Hands down the BEST hostel I've ever stayed at! Extremely clean, the rooms were cozy and smelled like the wooden bunks. The lockers are huge and come with a key so you don't need your own lock. The staff were wonderful, they clearly love their jobs and the city. When we missed a bus and had to stay another night they let us do all our planning on their computer before we even knew we'd need to stay another night. I wish I could go back....

This is a great place with friendly, worldly management (Freddy is the man) and a very appealing layout. The place is a short walk from the monastery and cathedral and the building itself is centered on a central courtyard with a fountain onto which many of the rooms look. Sheets are changed once you leave and the lockers are very secure. Overall, this was a great place for my friends and myself to stay for our three nights in Granada. And the price can't be beat.

Really nice Hostel in Granada. The Staff were great. One improvement I would suggest is to keep the Kitchen/Common area open for a little while longer (at least 2 am) with noise restrictions, to improve the atmosphere. Not re-opening the Kitchen/Common area until 08:30 is a little restictive too for those having to leave early (i.e. can't access any food in the fridge). Overall its a really good Hostel and I definitely recommend it.

I thought this hostel was great - super comfortable beds (seriously they were amazing), cute common area, great staff (especially Freddie) & in general a very nice experience. If you're looking for a "party hostel" I wouldn't say this is the one for you, although we were there on a Monday and Tuesday night so the weekends may be different. But the rooms were nice & quiet, I felt secure, they were super helpful & the location was good as well! I would absolutely recommend it / return myself.

This was a nice hostel to stay at, but very quiet. It was really clean, and they showed us a bunch of landmarks when we got there, which was great. In a good location close to downtown, and about a 25 minute walk from La Alhambra. They did not have too many weekend activities for guests though, and it seemed much more like apartments, than a hostel.

We spent three nights at El Granado and I have to say that is very well located in the middle of the old town. The staff was very kind and the hostel is very calm and nice.

Very well run little place this. Great location and centre to the action. Inside the facilities and fittings are modern and well designed. The kitchen/common area was like a modern kitchen at home - had a very nice feel to it. Freddy was a great host, gave us some really good tips for hikes in the Sierra Nevada and insider suggestions for accessing the main historical features of the city. We highly recommend the place - Oh yeah, and the wifi works.
