Best hostel in Antigua - have stayed in four and this is the best by far Awesome hot cooked to order breakfast - friendly staff, hot and powerful showers, comfy dorms.

Great location, dorms have big lockers under the bed, curtains around the bulk beds are really nice idea and big thanks to all the staff for keeping the hostel so clean. Breakfast is really nice and you can refill your water bottle for 1 Q. They also organize different tours and shuttles.

The breakfast is fabulous! It's cooked to order and very hearty. The rooms are cleaned daily and beds are comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Great staff, clean facilities, good free breakfast and coffee. Only thing is the street side rooms get very loud at night due to the bar across the street. Otherwise highly recommended!

The El Hostel is a little out of the way and a little hard to get to, and the lounge is a little cramped and lived in, but overall I liked it.

The 10 bed dorm was pretty noisy because it faces the street. If the windows are kept shut there's no ventilation, so not the best nights' sleep. Came back and spend a second night anyway, and everything else is fine. Breakfast was nice

I stayed for three nights. First, the location is good. It's one block away from San Francisco and there are cafe, restaurants and spa around the hostel. It's close from Main Square too. Second, rooms and bathroom are good. Bed is comfortable and sheets are clean. There is no air conditioner in the room but it was not hot at night. Bathroom is tiny but it is very clean. Hot shower works well. Third, common area is very good. There is a fountain in the common area and it is good to drink coffee

Great hostel! Bathrooms smell nice nice and are very clean. Free breakfast is GREAT. Comfortable beds. A nice change from dirty party hostels. Definitely not a party hostel, but if your looking for a nice, clean and relaxing place to stay then it is definitely worth the money. Staff were very helpful for local advice and organising transport to Lake Atitlan. After two days we left feeling recharged and clean!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hostal. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I would have liked for the private room we stayed in to be located a bit separated and not right in the center, so it felt more private, but all in all it was a very nice place.

I stayed in the 7 people dorm and my only complaint was that the bunk beds shake a lot. If you or the bunkmate move a tiny bit, both beds will shake. I tried two different bunk beds and this happened. For the men's washroom, there's no hangars or space to hang your clothes and towel, except for the end one. So you'll have to hang it and at the curtains and pray that it doesn't get wet. Besides that, the staff were amazing, especially Francisco. Breakfast was good and included in the price.

Awesome staff, great breakfast and cheap washing - what more could you want? Across the road from Cafe Nose, Antigua's coolest bar, El Hostal is a great place to spent either a short or long amount of time
