A very nice and affordable place to stay, with free wifi, great complimentary made-to-order breakfast, and amazing hot showers. Avoid the two rooms facing the street on Friday/Saturday night, as it gets very noisy and the wall is paper-thin. The only other issue is that both times I've stayed here I've left with several bug bites -- overall the place seems clean but room 1 may have some lurking bedbugs or something, take caution.

Very nice atmosphere, i relly liked the hammocks. Breakfast was good, too. The kitchen closes at 8pm which is a bit early.

Not the cheapest of hostels, but worth the money. Good location, includes great breakfast, everything is very clean and the showers have hot water.

Good group of travelers staying at the hostel. Hostel is too restrictive on the use of kitchen. The breafkast is very good but the bath room facilities are very cramped.

El Hostal is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, anywhere. You really get hotel service - clean linens, free towels, fantastic free breakfast, hot showers - for hostel prices. Also, the staff are fantastic, friendly, and extremely helpful in all respects. I would very highly reccomend this hostel to anyone staying in Antigua on a budget.

Showers were roomy and water was hot. The only public area was a small courtyard, but the TV was blaring both nights I was there, and the people using that area, including myself, were reading. Nobody was watching TV. Breakfast was included in the price of the stay and was very good - served restaurant style - they brought it to your table. Buck beds were a little wobbly and squeaky. Staff was very friendly.

Fantastic hostel & one of the best I've stayed in! Delicious breakfast, fast wifi, comfy beds, friendly & helpful staff. The hostel was extremely clean & the cleanest I've stayed in, in Central America.

Great hostel for good price. Atmosphere is more chill so if you are looking to party this may not be the place for you. The hot showers were a treat and breakfast (which is included) was amazing. Only downfall with that is breakfast is served from 730-1030am which meant we missed it a few times as our day started earlier than that. Overall, great place. Highly recommended.
