Beautiful place! Such a great vibe to El Jardin de Frida, really friendly people there and they were so helpful. The decor was so homely, very chilled garden and loved making breakfast in the morning. The room was great to - overlooking the jungle at the back from the terrace. Bike hire is a must too!

Lovely clean hostel situated at the end of the strip . Great rooms with balconies and power showers. My only complaint was some off my stuff went missing from the room. It was girly products and I was sharing the room with 2 guys so unfortunately suspect light fingered staff! Keep any products you can't live without in the locker rather than bedside table as things seem to grow legs in this place! Apart from that it was nice but very quiet and subdued - very good breakfast!

A great atmosphere with very friendly staff, who were very helpful when having questions or organising tours. We felt very good at the hostel, and especially had fun with Frida and Coco (hostel dog and cat). We highly recommend staying in the hostel with all the friendly people.

I happened to arrive during one of two Mayan festivals in Tulum. It was very loud, which was by no fault of the hostel or their staff. On my last night there I decided to join in the fun, as the saying goes if you can't beat em, join em. I just wish I had done it sooner as it was a wonderful experience!

It's a clean and cozy hostel, there is just one complaint I have, they turn off the lights and close the reception at 10 pm, so you can barely access internet after this time, depite of that I would recomend this place.

Beautiful hostel with a nice garden (complete with cats who may find their way into your room), right at the edge of town. Just past the police box if you're driving in from the south. Bit of a hike into the main strip, but manageable, and you get to see a bit of non-touristy Tulum. The kitchen/breakfast situation is vague, all very DIY with guesswork as to what is and is not communal food. Talk to staff the night before if you need an early checkout, as they are hard to find in the mornings!

This was a nice hostel in a lovely Town. It was on the edge of the town which made it nice and quiet and only a short walk into town. To get to the beaches and ruins was also easy. The room was lovely and spacious and clean and tidy, but the kitchen was really quite dirty. We didn't really see much of the staff as we had plans for the time that we were there, but they seemed friendly enough. Overall a pleasant stay for a good price.

This is a great hostel: friendly staff, nicely decorated, fresh breakfast and the beds have the best mattresses in all of Yucatan! Thanks!

Loved this hostel! Absolutely beautiful garden/common area and our private room was spacious and clean. Just the basics, but everything you needed. We were disappointed that there was no free breakfast while we were there (and that the staff didn't mention it), and also that the famous restaurant across the street was closed the night we were there, but overall it's a really great hostel and we had a great experience. It's located on the main street, but at the end so it's nice and quiet.

Really enjoyable place to stay if you don't want to spend a lot of money to stay on the beach. Free bike use, wifi, fridge, kitchen and terrific hang out areas helped make my stay very enjoyable. The staff is friendly and helpful, the included breakfast is large and varies from day to day (coffee/tea, fruit plate + some type of egg). Right at the south edge of town which some may find inconvenient but I didn't mind as I just took a bike most of the time. Occasionally a bit of a party atmosphere.

We had a studio, lots of space and kitchen. Wifi didin't work very well. Kitchen needed a good cleaning and some basic utensilies. Bathroom had mold and smelled bit. At bedroom there were lots of storage space, but drawers weren't cleaned so there was toothbrushes and other stuff from previous guests. So good cleaning needed there too! Bikes were free, that was nice, and breakfast was big and tasty.

I really liked it, despite I didn't like Tulum so much. The breakfast was awesome, the staff was helpful, and the place is really really really beautiful. I believe that there are two things they could change: 1. more fun, the hostel closes too early and people can't keep awake, talking and changing experiences beyond 10pm. 2. they shouldn't turn off all the lights at 10pm and close the main door at this time. I had to surf on the web in totally darkness. But if you go to Tulum, stay there!

Frida has Inn-like rooms and is not only a hostel, but also a local center dedicated to zen culture, peace and respect for nature and animals. Staff does make the difference. A guy who used to cook at resorts now prepares delicious breakfasts there (he'll be glad to talk about his experiences). Rafa, the owner, is very friendly and always prompt to help. The hostel can get very quiet at times, but I was lucky enough to meet awesome people. Free bicycles to booth!

Loved it! Really, really nice hostel! However only thing to bear in mind is that it is a bit of a mission from the beach... either a 20 min bike ride or a 10 min taxi (about 40 pesos) but in return you get a well priced, friendly, funky, chilled, hostel with lovely dog (Freida) and cats.

I loved El Jardin de Frida! The staff is great, Jorge makes a mean breakfast, and the kitty Coco Loco and their dog Frida are great to cuddle up in a hammock! The garden is a great place for gathering and meeting other travelers. Its also easy to take one of their bikes and ride to the ruins or to one of Tulum's great cenotes. I will definitely stay here again if I find myself in Tulum!
