The hostel toilets were discusting. I left after 2 nights to enjoy my stay in Rio. This was the worst hostel I stayed at in 10 weeks of traveling.

I would like to mark in this hostel is very nice atmosphere. You can meet a lot people from other countries and if you travel by yourself you can make good friendships, find people to make some trips together and else spend homely commen dinners in the hostel. And also many thanks to the very friendly staff, which is very helpful and give you every kind of informations what you need. Location of El Misti is perfekt! Thank you so much for this great time and staying in your hostel.

i don't know maybe i've found this place absolutely disgusting because i was staying there after carnival time. dirty, noisy, uncomfortable... i`ve been staying there for 3 nights, but i didn't see that someone clean the room or bathroom. but there is a good things to - location, price, and the best thing - a great Сhef (wonderful dishes every evening)

This hostel is a complete dump and it the dorms looks like prison cells without windows, the place is overall extremely shabby and in a horrible area next to a hospital. It has not air conditioning and the bathrooms are falling apart. I would like to point out that the staff and guests smoke in the living area and the smoke moves up to the sleeping areas. The amount of money that they charge is extremely expensive for the type of accommodation on offer.

The staff were extremely friendly and helped create a fun and sociable atmosphere. They were useful with information particularly about Carnaval. My biggest complaint is that there are only four bathrooms (which include the toilets) for everyone in the hostel which is not enough when the hostel is full. But I would definitely recommend this hostel for people looking to meet other travellers and who enjoy an excellent atmosphere.

Very welcoming hostel in an excellent location. However for a hostel which advertises so many nightly activities, the atmosphere was very quiet in the evenings perhaps due to staff insistence that no "party" type music be played whatsoever. In addition a proper bar service would be ideal (although the staff member serving caipirinhas was a nice touch) in order to help people socialise a bit more!
