I had a great time at El Misti hostel. The location is perfect, close to the beach and just in front of Siqueira Campos Metro Station. And the staff were friendly and extremely kind. People are very nice and it's a really organized and cool place to stay, meet people and hang out.

A very good place to stay, located in the heart of zona sul of rio de janeiro. Nice staff and good prices!

Great Hostel. Rooms very small, but good sized lockers to fit your whole bag. Bathrooms a bit run down, but clean and tidy. Great breakfast, good tours that you can book through the hostel. Air con in rooms, can get turned on whenever you ask. Nowhere to sit at night, except the bar/lounge space - where everyone drinks and is quite dark with loud music. But great place to meet people and party. Excellent location - short walk to beach and two min walk to buses and metro.

Our room was really dirty! and it look like no body cleaned for weeks, toilet are so dirty also, the information about the rules and the facilities wasn't so clearly, the bar is too small and caipirinhas the worst i've tried before. book in another hostel! don't make a mistake with this one

Good hostel, good location, great breakfast and dinners. Fantastic atmosphere in the dorm and common area & bar of course. Nice welcome drink. Staff very friendly and helpful (Kamillo is really the best receptionist !!). Good tour that you can book via hostel. I met some fine people from another countries, and had good time. I will stay here again.

I didn´t think this hostel was very good. It´s cramped, stuffy and overcrowded. I was in a 10 bed dorm which was about the size of the average bedroom, + it was filthy. The only outdoor area is a thouroughfare at the entrance, and its also tiny. The fridge in the kitchen doesnt´work properly, so so much for cooking your own food. I met some fantastic people from all over the world during my stay, and had some great times. So all in all it was a positive experience, just not a good hostel.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The dinner is definitely the best deal in town. I really appreciated how the staff always had a party recommendation at night. I had so much fun, I'm going to cry now that I have to go home.

We got not so clean sheets, the side of the bed next to the window was full off rubbish, the room was damp/moist and packed full with 8 beds, the windows could not be opened, (we were in room 102). ok staff and good safety but not all to great. the el misti copacabana (?) (on the other side of the tunnel) had a much better and open/fresh atmospfere.

One of the worst hostels ever. Noisey, no hot showers, dirty. If you like sleep don't stay here

The rooms were extremely dirty! All the pillows and sheet were stained (even though they gave you one set of sheets on arrival, in theory cleaned). The man at the bar seemed not cool at first but once we got to know him, he was a nice dude! Most of the other people were quite rude though! Neverhteless, the WORST THING were our roommates (5 guys and 1 girl all of them from Argentina) which basically turned the room into a dumpster. The staff, being informed several times, did nothing.

It's a nice hostel and there's the possibility to choose for an only female room. I really liked breakfast and the atmosphere inside, although I think there are too many bad in such a small room. I'd recommend this place to friends!

The common room is an absolute dungeon. Extremely hot and congested. I didn't spend any time at the hostel because the heat inside was unbareable. Rooms are ok though with AC and plenty of washrooms which was nice.

Decent hostel. Location is pretty good (though Ipanema is still better), but that's about it. Staff is unfriendly and the hostel is dirty.

The staff have really to learn how attend the customers. Serveral times they were asked for solutions of tourist request and they never attempt to give an usefull answer.Air conditioning not enough. We ask to change one night to another hostel of the same network and they refuse to give an answer to this request, despite we paid for a assurance at hostelworld to have the right to change nights to different hostels if they have availability. They state their policy is above the ones of hostelworld

I stayed there two times and I definitely regret the second time! The first time I met great people so that´s maybe the reason I didn´t mind the bad hostel. It´s dirty, expensive (for what u get) and just not nice at all. The staff is O.K. but not really friendly and honest. I would NOT recommend this hostel to anynody and I don´t know why it´s still rated so high...it´s definitely the worst hostel I´ve stayed in in Brazil!
