this simple and beautiful house really close to the beach of copacabana is the most coolest place in rio, the people that works there really enjoy the fun side of travelling, they help you to find everything 24/7 , they take care of you like their own family and when you are travelling for so long its really important, i found not only a place to stay with cheaps prices and top breakfast with their own homemade meals , i found some new friends. even its really clean and comfortable.

El Misti has a cool vibe and helpful staff, and I'll return if I ever go back to Rio, but I do have two minor complaints: 1) there's some mold in some of the rooms, maybe because they're basement-like? and 2) they serve dinner every night which is a fabulous deal and seems really delicious.... but it takes up the kitchen for like 4 hours and the chef almost seems to take it personally when you don't eat "his food". So plan ahead or eat with the rest of them. Cheers!

I had an amazing time at Misti House. It\'s close to everything, it has a great atmosphere and decently comfortable beds. They also provide a complete and tasty breakfast. I wouldn\'t book in the 12 beds dorm at the basement (doesn\'t have any window). Fede and Claudia at the front desk rock! They were super nice and helpful (I\'d let Francisco know though he is working at a hostel and not at an ICU in a hospital. He was so annoying shushing everybody all the time). I\'ll definetely come back!

Good hostel. Great location, 10 minutes from Copacabana beach and 5 minutes from a metro station. A really good breakfast in the morning (fruit, bread, cereal, cheese, toastie maker, pancakes...) and in the evening you can have a home-cooked meal for around 14Real. I was in the mixed dorm which had nice big lockers under the bunks to store your stuff.

Nice hostel, but rooms are pretty cramped. You have to pay for the internet and there is no TV room. It only has a makeshift bar at the weekends and they ask you not to bring in your own alcohol which is kinda annoying. The front desk staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. Location is nice and close to the beach. Had some money robbed out of my wallet, but if you have your stuff locked up should be no problems. A decent option for Rio.

At El misti House I had the best breakfast ever in a hostel!!! There were some several fresh fruits, fresh juice, toast, bread, cheese, ham. It was excellent! The Hostel is very good located, its about 4 Blocks to the Beach, 1 Block to the metro and also the Airport Bus is very close. The only thing I didnt like was that you had to pay to use the computers. There is free WIFI, but for the computers you had to pay... thats sad.

they really pack 'em in here. Three level bunk beds and rooms everywhere. It wasn't too loud or anything but there were always so many people around. Lots of activities and trips and deals available. Showers kinda suck and as there are so many people there is almost always a wait. Great location, walking distance to the beach. Staff were very helpful.

Great stay! Great friendly and helpful staff! A full hostel does mean a queue for the bathroom though which can be frustrating.

I didn't like this hostel, although the staff were good and the location was good, the problem was the over-crowed rooms and noise at night. The place was clean and tidy though. I think I was just unlucky with the guests at the time ... rude Israelis, nuff said.
