I am slight surprise since they have 3-decks bed in most room, and I am not too happy about the locker since it is full of sands. Other than that I have a pleasant stay at El Misti.

Very welcoming hostel in an excellent location. However for a hostel which advertises so many nightly activities, the atmosphere was very quiet in the evenings perhaps due to staff insistence that no "party" type music be played whatsoever. In addition a proper bar service would be ideal (although the staff member serving caipirinhas was a nice touch) in order to help people socialise a bit more!”

Great place! Probably the best option in Copacabana: i stayed in other hostels in Rio and at the moment this is my favorite. Very helpful staff, great atmosphere, huge breakfast, fast wi-fi. Great location, close to the metro and just 5 min walk to the beach. At night they prepare unexpensive and very tasty dinners. Recommended!!!

Nice hostel with the setup kind of like a big house, lots of room not always with connecting bathrooms which would have been preferred. Some of the staff were really helpful and lvoely, some not, so it depends on your luck! It would have been nice if computer use was free, and good luck trying to avoid being stuck with the middle bunk. The cleanliness of the hostel really saved it; good if youwant a fairly quiet atmosphere as there is no real bar or large area to socialise in

I had a great time during my stay here, it was a lot of fun! They had welcome caipirinhas, and the party they had for New Year´s Eve was really good. The setup of the place made it really easy to meet other hostelers and find groups to go with to different places around the city. They had a lot of activities available, and even if you didn´t feel like going out on a particular night, there were always people hanging out that you could talk with, and beers available for 3 reals.

Well, it is not so well located, but I think the hostel was average... The only thing is that the airco wasnt's working that well, so it was a bit hard for sleeping at night.

this hostel was fun and they set up dinners and places to go every night! some of the staff were really nice and some were not at all. the air conditioning did NOT work in our room of 9 people and we told multiple staff but they did not do anything about it and did not give us a fan either. overall it was a good place with a good location.

DIRTYY!!!! No soap in the bathrooms! Thats disgusting!! Only a couple of bathrooms, always a line to take a shower or use bathroom jn the morning. Breakfast was kinda gross, fruit always looked overly ripe. The set up for the hostel was terrible. Not all of us could fit in the common area, so it was hard to meet people.

El Misti House is in a very good place: 4 blocks away from Copacabana beach, near a Metrô station and bus stops. It smells funny around the hostel, but every block in Copacabana smells! Many rooms have no windows, and without A/C it can get very hot inside. There´s plenty of bathrooms, but also plenty of people, so they are dirty after 10 am. The breakfast is good, but there´s not much space. It is not the best hostel, but for the price I don´t think you´ll find something different in Rio.

Good location for the metro and busses. friendly staff who are happy to help you out with anything. My dorm room has aircon which was great. Nice kitchen area for you to make your own meals, grocery and fruit store just down the road. I would recommend this lovely place ;)

I had many great experiences at El Misti Rio - I didn't stay at El Misti House because they were full, but the staff switched me and it was easy. They picked me up from the airport, gave me a good rate on a 8 bed-room with it's own bathroom, and the breakfasts were good. There was some problem with their water system for a couple days, but it was resolved fairly quickly.

The staff was very friendly and there is everything you expect from a hostel. The only problem is that the place is too small for the number of people accommodated there so i felt a bit claustrophobic sometimes.
