Think more "refugee," less "refuge." No electricity, little running water, open air, lots of bugs, and unclean. It's an awesome location...essentially camping with a view of the water.

We only stayed there for 1 of the 3 nights originally scheduled. The hostel was just too far for us from the entertainment, markets, etc. However, if you are looking for a serene and beautiful retreat.... Refugio del Buda is the place to be. Pedro the caretaker of the hostel was nice and friendly.

A great hostel to get away from everything. Out of Hermosa but easily accessable via taxi this place has an empty beach break 30 yards from the front door. Basic but great fun.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hostel is right on the beach, and it was so beautiful and peaceful. I liked that it was a little isolated, but that made it difficult to travel around (i.e. go to an ATM, grocery shopping.) Everyone was very friendly and kind. Thank you.
