The bathrooms could have been a lot cleaner. The showers could have been cleaner too and the smell of compost wasn't welcoming.

No lockers to keep your valuables safe. If you're in the dorm, you are locked out of the main area (and kitchen) after hours. Staff is friendly. The place is nice. Worth a visit when in Zihuatanejo.

Friendly people but pretty rough & not even vaguely clean. Didn't think it was very good value for money.

The hostel Rincon Viajero Zihuatanejo was ok, except for the fact: • … that when we arrived the staff tried to charge us more money than previously agreed upon in Hostelworld. • …and as a matter of fact the bed sheet had dark stains and we had to share our (small) room with many insects among which the cucaracha was the biggest peace disturber. • …moving on to sanitary installments, we were confronted with only one community toilet for the whole hostel, which had fecal matter all over the trash

The hostel has so much opportunity- a great courtyard, a little cafe, a kitchen, a little book exchange, etc. However, the dormitory style room has a different entrance from the other rooms and cannot access all of the main areas listed after hours. Using the kitchen, playing games, socializing with other hostel visitors, using the extra showers, etc. was all limited access. One entire day we were locked out of the main area. Also general maintenance is lacking.

It's a haven of tranquil. A short walk from the main town and would recommend getting a bus to La Ropa beach or ask for directions to La Saladita. The owner, Maili makes amazing cocktails and smoothies. Showers are fine, water isn't hot, but not cold either and actually perfect temperature given the heat and humidity. Very clean, though it's rustic so maybe doesn't come across that way, didn't see a single bug in 7 nights!
