We enjoyed most of our stay at El Viajero. It was in a great location and the staff were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately while we were there repairs were needed to the hot water system and for our last morning there was thick noxious diesel smoke flowing directly towards our room on the main floor. We were checking out that morning anyway but we ended up feeling sick afterwards. There was also a loud rumbling noise that occurred regularly but we thought it might have just been the ferryWe enjoyed most of our stay at El Viajero. Great location - less than 10mins walk from the ferry/bus station, and less than 5mins walk to the historic centre of town. Friendly staff. Pretty average breakfast. Seemed like they would have been able to book winery tours etc if you were staying for a while. Nice hostel - great location between the port and the old town. Helpful staff. It can be a bit noisy though - they are putting on a new level to the top of the hotel so you dont get any peace during the day.Nice hostel - great location between the port and the old town. It was a pity this hostel was booked out for our second night as we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with them. The hostel was much nicer and cleaner than I had imagined. At night, it appears to be located in an unsafe area, but during the day it is obvious that it is very safe. It is nicely located (close to the Buquebus terminal and the town). The staff was amazing, they were willing to take our luggage after we checked out for the day and allowed us at the last minute to arrive in the middle of the night rather than the time we originally planned. I would recommend this to anyone and would go back. The hostel was much nicer and cleaner than I had imagined. Really nice clean place well located just outside the historic centre. However, more of a hotel than a B&B or Hostel, hence no real common area or cooking facilities. Breakfast was nice, but could have done with some fruit or cereal. Free internet was useful.Really nice clean place well located just outside the historic centre. We thought we would rest, but the hostel turned to be noisy, so it became kinda difficult. Maybe it was the room we had, so close to a bomb or something.... Room was clean, but not if I get meticoulous, and my allergy complained. Everything else was OK.We thought we would rest, but the hostel turned to be noisy, so it became kinda difficult.
