This hostel definitely made our trip unforgettable! The atmosphere is incredible and you get to meet new, friendly people all the time! It's location is perfect, being near the beach and a bus stop is priceless. There are also good and cheap places to eat all around. Definitely a must go!

This hostel had the most unhelpful staff. The toliet was leaking brown out of it, and the staff had a no care attitude. The atmosphere was dull, and i believe it is not good value for money. You are better off staying with another brand of hostel because so much of the hostel has to do with the experiences you are told about. The staff were very unwilling to help

The place is very good, clean, secure and well located, has a lot of services, but the rooms are small and the employees are very (and maybe too) professionals.

Location was great. Price was a bit high, but I guess that is to be expected during the high season at such a coveted tourist destination.

We loved our stay there, very nice bedroom (private suite). When you are inside the room the door won't lock, but don't worry, no one will be able to open from the outside. It's a very safe city. Great location!

Great location for ventures downtown Punta del Este. I thought the staff could have been a little bit more friendly. You should advertise your tours and excursions more. Also, the fact that the kitchen closes down at 10pm is a HUGE nuisance.

This hostel is well located and have clean bedrooms but I suggest to change the kitchen. They have an industrial stove and just 4 huge pan. If you want to cook for more than ten people, it is ok, but it is a problem if you cook for yourself of for just a couple. The TV room is in the reception in the same environment where the sound is on all the time, so you can not hear the TV only to see the images. The breakfast is good but need some fruits.

My iPad and $350 were stolen from the locker in my room which are made from wood with a flimsy metal lock. A number of other locks were broken off and other bags had been gone through. Another guest had $100 taken. When I told a staff member she just grunted at me and went to tell other staff members. I was then assisted by one staff member who dosnt work there full time and who was very helpful. When I was checking out and quite short tempered I was told to "get better manners."

Dear customer, the Hostel and its costumers suffered an unfortunate and unforeseen robbery. We publically apologize for have not been prepared for this kind of crime and we would like to explain you that this was the first time such a crime happened in the Viajero Hostel - Punta del Este. For us is of major importance to offer not only a nice and enjoyable environment, but also a secure one. As a consequence of this situation, we have already increased safety by taking different security measures such as improving lockers quality and providing locks by paying a reduced fee. Also we are starting to use wristlets to better identify all our customers and avoid strangers from entering to the facility. We appreciate all the comments left from our customers, either good or bad, because your feedback let us offer a better service every day.

The rooms don't have locks. I asked the person at the front desk for one and she said "No las usamos" (We don't use them). So guess what happened? The next day, my friends each had money stolen from their bags, our roommates had locked their stuff but the locks were broken, all of our stuff had been looked through and a guy had his iPad stolen in another room. But of course, who needs locks? It's not a great location, better to find a place closer to the center. Room was average. Not recommended

Nice fun hostel - but only go in for the dinners offered if you're willing to wait until 11pm for it to be served.

someone sneaked in at night and slept in our room (stealing my pillow and using the towel i'd taken to the hostel) w/o registering (or paying)... it all came out when i complained about someone using my towel and asked for a clean one the next morning! ppl at the hostel were nice, but no one ever checked who was going into the hostel lobby and the rooms!!!
