Best location for all who just like to enjoy the vacations in true Gran Canaria - without all the tourist staff and fancy foreign hotels, but with open-minded local people in a totally relaxed atmosphere :) Additionally: clean, well equipped, and located directly at the beach! For us, both El Warung hostels are the favorite destinations of travel - totally recommend!

Nice hostel with good location by the beach. The atmosphere was ok. The staff on the other hand was really friendly!! When i came to the hostel there was something wrong with my booking and there was no available bed for me, but the staff let me sleep on the couch for free, very professional way to sort it all out. i also went up to the cave hostel for a few days and i really recommend you to go up there, the view was amazing!!!! and it felt so cool sleeping in an actual cave!

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel very much - the outside and the stairs up were very unimpressive (but there working on it)the warm smile of the owner put things right when I got there. His attitude the whole time I was there was absolutely right and so was his bounderies. Hes obviously proud of 'what he has built' and it shows. The atmosphere is a little mini community while your there no body is pushed aside.

I've stayed in hostels of many times, in Europe and in Asia, and never have I seen a hostel as relaxed, friendly, and generally pleasant as El Warung. The staff is friendly, flexible, and happy to help you find your way on the island, the facilities and the beds are very clean and comfortable, the big kitchens (and free breakfast!) are great perks, and the beach-side location is perfect. I can't wait to go back to Las Palmas so I can go back to El Warung.

It is such a lovely place and I've met so many nice people. Everybody is super relax and there is a real family feeling. Very very nice. For sure you also have to visit the Cave-hostel of El Warung. It is AMAZING!!

what a STUNNING experience! I would recommend everybody to come to this comfy and familial hostel. The location is great, next to the beach, face to face with a supermarket, the boulevard with loads of restaurants. Its next to the surfing spot, the owner is also a surfing teacher. Its super clean and the staff is AMAZING. I had a great time with them, they can tell you a lot about non touristic spots you can visit, that was quite nice. I really miss them and I will come back for sure.

I've been to El Warung several times before and even to the cave hostel but only now have made a review. I want to say that if you're planning to come to Gran Canaria, stay here, this hostel has a great location - you can see the beach from the common room window, and is close to buses, bars, and restaurants. The hostel is small but that keeps it cozy and personal. The staff were some of the nicest people and were willing to help, take you out to different beaches. PLUS, they have a CAVE too!!

El warung is great - really unique atmosphere and feel. The location could not be more perfect - literally a block from the beach (which is beautiful), and right next to a super-market that's open late so you can cook your own food. Everything is laid back and the line between staff and guests is fuzzy - if you stay for a few days you'll get to know the various folks helping run things, in addition to the other guests. Won't look elsewhere if I come back.

the hostel is really close to the beach. It's quite small but you really feel like having the “local experience”. The atmosphere is so welcoming ! Manuel and helpers made me feel like I was at home, so nice when you travel for long. The best suprise was when they shared some of the secrets of their island, the ones you would never find in any traveling book or website. Amazing. This hostel is one of these rare, out of track places you find, and you don’t forget when you move on. Thank you warung

Great, cozy and fun hostel beside playa de las Canteras, all you need for your time in las Palmas. Complete your stay in gran Canaria spending at least one night in El Warung Cave Hostel, and your experience will be perfect!

When we booked a twin room ensuite, we expected to have our own bathroom... instead we had a bathroom across the corridor which was used by EVERYONE (including people who came there every few days to take a shower or a bath - and they were NOT hostel guests). Also our room was very small. The good thing is the hostel's location - next to Playa de las Canteras. And you get free breakfast. You should definitely try out their other hostel in Artnenara (in a cave). We liked it much better.

We had a good time staying at El Warung Beach Hostel. It was very nice to chat with other travelers (some of them seemed to stay in Las Palmas for a longer period). It was unfortunate that the toilet on the 2FL was broken. We booked a basic twin room. Had to admit that it was strange to sleep in a separate bed (a bank bed) since we are married couple (or was it because we forgot to inform...). But in any case, we had a good sleep.

Great hostel. Booked it rather last minute but so thankful I did. Great location and great people. When I woke up the first morning a huge breakfast spread was out on the table. Manolo (owner) is from the island so he gave out the best recommendations for food and even took us out to one of the bars to meet up with friends. Place is really well kept too!

A place unlike any other! The owner Manolo and the staff are just amazing people - lovely, fun, caring and helpful. Very homey, relaxed and sociable atmosphere, easy to meet other travellers. The location so close to the beach is just excellent... and on top you get a free breakfast. Charming place to stay! Highly recommended!!
