Rooms varied pretty widely - I recommend a higher-level room (better views!), or asking for one with an extra bed (our friends had HUGE rooms with two beds for the same price/booking details as our smaller one). Staff was SO helpful - our flight in was VERY delayed and they waited for us at the airport, and when we left, drove us all around Kathmandu before dropping us off. So kind, and great big breakfast in the beautiful garden.

This was our first trip to Nepal and Elbrus made it a great one! Amazing garden and views, breakfast included was top notch - eggs, juice, porridge, fruit, coffee/tea! Very comfortable beds and cosy rooms, outside the centre of Thamel but only a 5 min walk away. Khem and his team were very helpful and welcoming! Only downside was that our organised airport transfer did not turn up - make sure to confirm pick up day before. Definitely give Elbrus a go!

Great location, lovely people and big breakfast! We only stayed here for one night but we will definitely be staying here again when we pass back through Kathmandu. We were even able to store one of our bags there which is a life saver. Thank you so much Khem, Ali and staff! We will see you soon.

My friends and I had an excellent stay at Elbrus home. They helped us arrange a driver so we could watch the sunset at Nagarkot as well as seeing Bhaktapur. The included breakfast was a wonderful thing to wake up to every morning. The staff was all super helpful and hospitable. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Loved Elbrus Home!

Clean room with everything we needed. The friendly owner, Khem, also helped us get to airport the next day to collect a piece of luggage which arrived late. Very satisfied!

The staff at Elbrus are incredibly helpful. And the balconies on each floor are lovely spots to hang out, check out the views over Kathmandu and make new friends.

Nice location just outside of Thamel. The owner Khem is amazing and always makes you feel at home. He's awesome to chat to and can help organise anything!

This Hotel was a great little gem just a 5 minute walk outside the hectic streets of Thamel. Breakfast was great, and the beds and blankets were great after some of the other places we've stayed. The hotel manager was very considerate of our needs and helped with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

If you come to kathmandu, Elbrus is a great placebo stay. The staff go out of their way to help you and are very welcoming. the rooms are clean, the coffee is delicious, and it's only a couple of minutes walk into the main area of Thamel. We had help finding a tailor (according to our budget), directions to sites around the city, and they also booked buses and tours for us. Hands down the place to stay in Kathmandu.

We found this place online at a good value and with great reviews and have not been disappointed. Rooms are neat and clean, beds are good, and shower has lots of hot water! Breakfast is really nice and there's plenty of it - plus you can eat it in their beautiful garden. Location in outer Thamel means it nicely quiet at night, and the owner will help you any way he can. We fully enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend it!

Charismatic owner who was very helpful. Clean rooms, but more pricey than other budget places to stay in KTM but the rooms are better! Plus you get an amazing free breakfast for free. Great place to recover from a trek or goto before setting off!

We enjoyed our stay at Elbrus a lot. Khem, the funny owner who speaks also german a little bit, gave us a heartly welcome. He also arranges city trips and trips to Nagarkot and Bakthapur. I recommend an airport pick up because it is not easy to find (almost the same price as a taxi and hassle free). He also helps you with questions. It is not directly in Thamel but just 3 mins away by walking. With the nice Garden and free coffee+water it was a small oasis in the noisy and chaotic Kathmandu.

Fantastic location just a short walk from Thamel. Great, cozy beds. Warm showers. Helpful staff. Full breakfast with eggs, porridge, and tea/coffee. Friendly fluffy white dog. Internet connection was fair but not amazing, though it did connect in the rooms. Would have liked a posted schedule for electricity outages. Otherwise we really loved our stay, price was great, and we'd come back again!

Staff at elbrus are so warm and friendly, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. As a solo woman travelling Nepal this was a great first place to stay - I felt so incredibly safe the entire time!

Elbrus is a very nice guesthouse which is clean and in a good location near to thamel but away from the noise. However I felt that the owner would try to encourage me to take the most expensive option for transport etc. If I didnt want the expensive 1 and asked about a cheaper option he would try to give reasons why I shouldnt take the cheaper option and sometimes he wouldnt tell me the cheapest option. He also added on commission without telling me how much it was or that he was adding it on.

Khem was such a great help in organising a trek for us to base camp with a fantastic guide Gambu and for a reasonable price! Free breakfast, free filtered water and hot showers were all additions that made our stay easy and comfortable! Would definitely come back :)
