A beautiful garden, balcony, rooftop terrace, very friendly and helpful stuff, hot shower, good rooms, fast wifi, tasty breakfast, just around the corner of thamel but much more quiet - the place you want to stay in Kathmandu. Thank you Khem for a great time. I would come back anytime.

The staff and the owner are really nice. the hotel is situated on a very noisy street outside Thamel, but the garden and terrasse are great. You get tea when you want and the breakfast is quite hearty. Really a good place. i made various trips to different places and came back there. the rooms are not cheap, but the breakast, free wi-fi and pc and tea compensate...and the lovely people too!

Would not recommend. Garden and included breakfast are nice. Staff was also nice. Nevertheless some guy associated with the hotel taxi driver tried to rip us off as soon as we got off the plane. He wanted money for holding the sign saying Elbrus Hotel... The room also looked like it lacked some cleaning and in a single night we managed to get eaten alive by bed bugs or fleas.

Elbrus Home was a lovely place to stay. A short walk from Thamel Centre, it was a pleasure to be a little away from the nightlife, yet close enough to visit. The Guest House Garden was fabulous and the staff were always very helpful and friendly..... and the breakfast was awesome. Thanks Guys.

Khem is a fantastic host! Location just north of Thamel is great.. close to the action, but far enough out of it to get a good nights sleep. Speaking of which, the beds are probably some of the most comfortable I have come across in the subcontinent! We certainly looked forward to returning to Elbrus Home after completing the Annapurna circuit. Overall, a great stay!

This place is AMAZING. It was the perfect little haven from the craziness if Kathmandu. The proprietor, Khem, is truly the most welcoming and sweet person ever. He was one of the highlights of my trip to Nepal. I wholeheartedly recommend Elbrus. Fantastic location, accommodating staff, delicious breakfast, and comfortable accommodations.

Staff looked after us really well, the owner was very friendly and keen to help us organise day-trips. Good sized room - nice to have a 3 bed room with 3 actual beds in them. Rooms were clean but basic but excellent value for price. An excellent introduction for our travels.

had a great stay here, khem was extremely helpful and the only non excellent parts of the above are more through being picky as opposed to a problem. would definitely stay there again.

I originally went to Elbrus Home planning to stay for 4 days, and I stayed 2 weeks. Went back and stayed a second time after my Annapurna trek. Khem is a great host, and the breakfast was wonderful. The location on the edge of Thamel is outstanding, and there are several large balconies and a nice garden to relax in. My only complaint was the bathrooms.....a bit grimy, and the toilet seat was not affixed to the toilet in any of the 3 rooms I stayed in, so it swerved all over the place.

The hostel is just 10 mins walk to Thamel. So we can enjoy the good food and drinks nearby. The room is clean and tidy when compare to normal Kathmandu hostels. The owner Khem is extremely helpful. Every gust received a welcome drink when they arrived. We like that ! Upper floors have better sunlight and ventilation.

I stayed Kathmandu a little more days than I had planned, partially because of the comfort offered by the hotel. It looks like a little more expensive than the hostels of ones in southern thamel, but you will find it reasonable after you had nice breakfast, took 24hr hot shower and met warm hospitality.. It's 10min walk from the central and noisiness of thamel, that gives you very good condition to prepare for and take a rest from long-days trekking.

we had a great time at elbrus and stayed here for many nights. left our bags here for 18days as well while we went trekking. the breakfast here is fantastic! and the garden and sofa room are great places to meet people as well. khem and ali as well as the other staffs are exceptional. from bus tickets to air tickets to currency exchange, there's nothing they can't do. if you just laze in elbrus, you get free tea/coffee as well! I will definitely stay here again

Pretty clean, Khem is very helpful. Location is a bit intimidating at first but you really aren't too far from Thamel. Not great for bonding. Breakfast pretty good!

This place felt really like Home. The owner Khem is very friendly. He helped us with everything that we wanted to know. The rooms are clean and the beds were very good as well as the breakfast. The place is situated outside the very busy part of Thamel but still in walking distance.... They have a lovely garden and on each floor they have a terrace where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view! We really loved it here!!!! Thanks.... :)

Elbrus is extremely friendly and helpful. He kept offering us tea and asking us how we liked the place. Their breakfast is delicious. Elbrus' Home is very relaxing and comfortable compared to the rest of the city. The only negative thing is that the place is hard to find. We were in a cab circling around Thamel multiple times while asking many ppl on the streets where Elbrus' Home was, but no one had any idea. If I were to stay at Kathmandu again, I would definitely come back to Elbrus' Home.
