A nice hostel, very friendly staff, building old but inside okay, will definitely come back

AC in the private double would be helpful.

WORST HOSTEL EVER. When I fisrt gor there, 20.15 hrs reception CLOSED because they were having a "break, they need it too". YOU ARE CHARGED FOR EVERYTHING, internet, towels, cutlery, lockers, remote control for TV...EVERYTHING, so it could be the cheapest in rooms, but at the end of the day it's the MOST EXPENSIVE. Staff not firendly and rude, rooms DIRTY AND STINKY...WOSRT HOSTEL EVER, and remeber, you're gonna be CHARGED FOR EVERYTHING BESIDES YOUR BED.

Cheap, fairly easy to find, friendly staff and residents, a lot of people to meet, parties and activities organised every night.

Great staff, good size kitchen. 5 minute walk from Luna park, the beach and the pier but pretty noisy most nights

The location is perfect, a long with the staffs niceness. I will go back!

A very good backpack near from the sydney center and the parks. The staff is really nice there is a bar restaurants in the backpack and a lot of advantages For nigth club with free drinksss good to meet people and make party ( party bus too) The rooms are secures! Good feedback for us

I liked most of the staff because most were very helpful and knowledgeable. I hated the fact that there is no soap in the bathrooms that is just plain nasty. Two rooms had bed bugs while i was there, and mine got sprayed for fleas. But its walking distance to most of the stuff you want to see. The kitchen is kept clean, closed twice a day for cleaning. Not super impressed with the hostel, it was old, yet cool looking, but the area around it was quite boring.

The staff are what make this hostel so good - they are always available for assistance with directions, suggestions for travel and other useful information. They have a café doing daily specials that you can actually afford and enjoy! Not worth trying to cook – kitchen too busy anyway. Recommend

The hostel is in a great location to get around sydney. The only downside to my stay was that the girls in the room (6 bed female room) had taken over all the cupboards so i could not store my backpack/valuables anywhere other than on the floor. Also some of the showers are made for shorter people than me, i am 5ft 7, so pretty average and i had to stoop to use them. But these are only small things, my overall stay was excellent. I am probably going to stay again when i return to Sydney.

The Kitchen was dirty alot of the time, its too small for the amount of beds in hostel, location was fab, 15 mins walk from everything, liked the hostel because of the people i met in my room, security is good downstairs but the dorm room door didnt lock properly, heard alot of things from other bedrooms about bed bugs but the hostel was dealing with it effectively, not sure if we would stay there again, but is the cheapest so i guess u get what u pay for.....

We originally booked one night here, but ended up staying for 5 nights in total. The hostel was cheap, clean and in an excellent location. Staff were friendly and very helpful, we felt safe here and would definitely stay again.

Nice staff & people, friendly atmosphere, fresh and clean rooms, close to city. Also possible to work for accomodation!

i stayed at the Elephant Backpacker Sydney for 7 nights and it was good. the location is perfect, near to everything you need (the kings cross, botanic gardens, opera house, bus station, ...). the cleanliness could be better but it was OK! It is realy busy there so you will defenitly meet some people you like! :)

It`s kind of dirty, the employees r not so nice.
