I was the second time in this hostel. They have reduced the kitchen, which was a better meeting point with other guest before, to a small pantry kitchen. That is regrettable. The cleanliness is good, but they should care more for that ugly black stuff in the showers /mould fungus, black) and refrain from putting slippery, everytime wet foot "carpets" into the shower. At every time one or two showers are 85% - 100% ok., it is only the one besides the kitchen, that is not
Firstly the good things about this hostel. The location is good being so close to the bus and railway station and only a 10 min walk to the old town. Value for money is ok, it's a little dated to say the least but I myself aren't to bothered about this. THAT'S IT! I had to pay 12 euros more than what it was written in the internet to have a friend's visit. On the internet it wasn't written about it, either the cost of 12 euros. So, I paid 35 euros for a single room. In the other hostel I saw in Riga I had guests without problems. They cheated me, and I will never come back there.
We booked a room for 4 people and we ended up having a bigger one but just for us. So we had a decent amount of extra space which saved our lives...otherwise the room would have been too small for six people. Good choice though, at the lowest price range you'll ever find.
