My friends from Sofia told me that I was crazy to sleep in a hostel near the Stochna Gara. The neighbourhood has some character, but is - even for men - a little bit strange in the middle of the night. Women who work on the streets try to take attention from every men who pass there. About the hostel: it's worth the money, surely if you leave Sofia by bus or train because the stations are nearby. The man who work in the hostel is really friendly. He speaks a little bit English.

nice place, i would call it bed and breakfast instead of hostel though. if u travel in winter make sure the owner switches on the heating a day before, it takes a while to get warm as there is no central heating.
