Great hostel. A little bit out from the city centre but the hostels character made up for that. Would stay here again!

Great atmosphere, great people! It's like going to a relative's place. The Kevins are wonderful people, very nice and talkative and make the difference on the stay. Accommodations are what expected, bathrooms clean and the common areas are cozy. Loved it! Definitely recommend!

Quite a long way out of the interesting part of town but if it's not raining and you're after some exercise it's fine. Very decent sized dorm rooms

A bit of a walk, but not too far from attractions. The 12 bed dorm was big with high ceilings and was comfortable.

This hostel was very far from the center of liverpool and walking there at night was not very comfortable. the building was badly maintained, the walls in the toilets had holes and the railings were cracked.

A really good place to stay. A big rambling house in a Georgian style buildings area. Friendly owners and staff. It is a little bit out of the way perhaps for some people. Say about 20-25 minutes walk to Liverpool centre but it wasn't an issue for me. I'd happily return or recommend the place.

OK but old and dated (not in a good way). It feels like it's had it heyday in the late 90's and hasn't been really looked after since. Breakfast was basic (self service toast and spreads and 24 hour coffee/tea) but OK. It's a basic "sleep-and-leave" kind of place. Good: free lockers in rooms (keys available, no need for padlocks), bunk beds OK, WIFI, quiet location Bad: upstairs kitchen was a bit grubby, female toilets not very comfortable (floor was peeling, hole in the ceiling - why?!)

Awesome hostel, good location - a short walk to Tesco Metro and lots of pubs. Beds are super comfortable and the free breakfast is better than your average cereal and toast. Kevin Snr is great, will have to come back for the Beatles Tour!

really great place... next time will stay there again for sure... only thing is that you have to book 2 nights on weekends... but the place is worth it... tea, toast anytime (coming home hungry after being out .. no problem)

Thank you to the lovely, friendly Kevin who kindly greeted us and made all of us a nice warm cuppa - first time for a hostel and so sweet! Loved the outside garden and 'art-sculpture staircase' in the corner that lead to the sky...and thank for the charming and warm atmosphere and people!! Cheers.

Kevin Snr made my weekend! In 5 years of travel I have never felt so warmly welcomed to any place of accomodation! It was like staying at my Grandpa's house, and the tea/coffee/lemonade/bread/toast/snacks were available 24/7 making it homely and economical too!

Kevin Sr. is an excellent hostel owner/director. Couldn't ask for a more genuine, more caring person. The hostel is just a short walk away from some pubs and a very short bus ride into city centre. Make sure you book at least one of your nights here for a Thursday so you get Kevin's FANTASTIC and free Beatles tour. The other employees of the hostel are what you would expect for a young 20something international group. But if you're wondering where to book in Liverpool- stop now, and book here!

The owner/manager of the hostel (Kevin) is amazing! realy helpfull. The only bad thing of this hostel is the location, 20 min walking from downtown.

embassy hostel is a blast. Kevin is incredibly friendly and helpful (He opened the door at 3am for us). to me, he is a great host and you can see that he simply likes what he does and has put lots of efforts into embassy hostel. i really enjoyes the athmosphere there. plus, there's free breakfast, coffee and so on. the terrace must be really cool to hang out in summer. it's a pity that we missed that one. we had a good time, cheers mate ;)

A little out of the way, but easily walk-able from the Lime Street Station, when you know where you are going. The receptionist at the AVIS Car Rental place nearby was very helpful if you get lost along the way! The hostel has great character, friendly staff and the cup of tea when I arrived was very nice on a cold English day. The Beatles tour was fantastic as well.

I had a great two nights at Embassie Backpackers. Kevin Sr. was so welcoming and helpful in suggesting tourist activities, and he gave a great Beatles tour! The layout of the hostel made it really easy to meet people, and I really enjoyed sitting around the table in reception with people from all over the world, eating our weight in toast. I would definitely stay there again! The only thing is I had to wait for a toilet and shower; it could benefit from more bathrooms.
