The taxi could not find the place at first, the sign is very small. everything was closed up when we arrived ( i guess we booked the wrong nights) He was very nice and able to get us in anyway. When we first got into the room, we checked the bed sheets. They were not white, and they had visible white stains all over them. We were very disgusted.

Hi Danielle and thanks for your review. I'm sorry if the taxi took longer to find me, after 2 years many of them know about Embassy Lakeview but some still don't. Yes you came one day earlier that's why the room wasn't ready for you... i just didn't expect your arrival. :-P About the sheets in your room they are in red color because i changed the color from white to red. The reason is that the laundry service in Samui is not as it should be, sometimes some kind of stains that we are able to clean in western countries they are not able to wash away... so the bed sheets are clean (as they were clean when you checked in) but some stains are still visible sometimes even if the sheets are clean... same thing for the white ones. The white stains you have seen on the sheets are a few drops of wax... impossible to clean here and even if i changed the color of the sheets the wax stains are still white. :-P My sheets are in real cotton and expensive that's why i'm not taking them out just for a couple of wax drops. On that day i had only that sheets available for your room, normally are the last ones that i use for emergency. I want just to make clear that the sheets i use in the rooms are always clean and new for every single check in. Sorry for the inconvenience by the way. Thanks Luigi

We thought Luigi really makes the place and if we were staying longer and hadn't already had lots of plans, we'd of been happy to have beers and chill with him. He even left the DVD player in our room so we could chill at no extra charge. Friendly and helpful the only downside was if you were a light sleeper there was music, from elsewhere till quite late. I found ear plugs and a beer knocked me out! It's close to some good places to eat and we hired a bike from close by for 200baht.

Hello Kowhai and thanks for your review. I know my hostel is not perfect first of all because i do everything by myslef and it's hard to make everything perfect. I'm looking for a housekeeper since a while but it's hard to find a good one... in the meanwhile i keep doing by myself and try to give always the best. By the way I give a clean to my hostel everyday but i'm conscious is not perfect... it will be better soon as is planned a little renovation..! ;) The room prices are the cheapest for that reason... this is and will be a backpackers place... where everything is not perfect but surely for a nice stay... just an easy place... it was born with this philosophy to give always (or almost) the cheapest and nicest stay. The hostel smelled really bad and none of the crammed rooms had outdoor windows, making it damp and extremely hot. At night, cats would fight in the ceiling (not on the roof, in the ceiling), making a lot of noise. The owner is a nice guy though. Located right next to three massage parlours with pink lights, but the ladies were very sweet...

Luigi runs this place alone which we thought was pretty amazing! He was so helpful. We extended a 5 night stay to a 10 night stay. Great location, just along the street from restaurants and beach. There are just 5 private rooms along the corridor with shared bathrooms and toilets, main door not always locked so a small security issue but our room was big enough, and Luigi cleaned bathrooms and showers regularly. Room got very hot. Recommended for a quiet, enjoyable stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner/operator was amazing. The rooms are pretty basic and it's a little bit out of town (less than five minute walk, so no big deal), but he was so nice that we would definitely stay there again!

Hi Heather :) Thanks for the nice review. True that the room are basic... my goal is to give cheap rooms (normally the cheapest) for people who likes to spend small money for the accomodation and dont pretend much... so mostly backpackers and the youngest. I'm sorry we didnt spend much time together... it was busy for me with job and also parties as it was the New Year Eve time. :) But it was nice to meet you and if you are ever back to Samui you are surely welcome again. We arrived in koh samui the day before new years, and got an Email confirmation the day before but when we showed up the had given our room away to someone else so we had to scramble and pay ten times more money because everything was booked out. Not good business

Hi Matthew, Just wanting to make it more clear as maybe we had a misunderstanding when you came here. I DIDN'T sell the room to someone else, i never did and i would never do, i always respect the bookings. What happened is that i had over bookings (all by internet from different websites and not privates) and you were the last check in coming... in fact i was surprised as i wasn't expecting it. It was embarrassing for me. Of course is my mistake and told you sorry a few times, i wouldn't let it happens, but as you can see it's different by selling a room to someone else... it was just a mistake in the website managing... my fault. It was the first time a thing like that happens to me... nobody is perfect and that busy time like the new year eve is even hardest to be... sorry if you paid more but hope you had a great holiday anyway. We had a very enthousiastic and friendly welcome by Luigi, who runs the hostel and who could give us information about interesting places in the neighbourhood. The room was clean and OK. Showers were very good and warm, which was lots better than in other places. I would realy recommend this hostel if you go to Ko Samui!
