Overall pretty good, the lady at the front really made the place. She refused to let you help her do anything in the morning for breakfast, including dishes and cooking. She was extremely nice and made you feel at home. The beds were always well made and the bathrooms were clean. Besides the kitchen, there was no common room. There could have been more outlets in the rooms too. Pretty good location.

The hostel is private rooms which was nice for the nights we stayed although it was almost not possible to meet other people. Good location, walking distance to all the sights. Breakfast was served to you in the morning which was a nice touch.

The main lady at the front desk was amazing. She is the one that does the washing and makes your breakfast in the morning. She is very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is basic but you can have as much as you like. The location is so good, the Duomo is like 3 blocks away. The hostel itself is a little hard to find, its just a wooden door, but its so clean. We stayed in a 5 bedroom dorm and it didn't have bunk beds! Would recommend!

Nothing frilly, but super clean - which is most important to me. Breakfast is good. There is an older Italian woman who is the hostel nonna and cleans, makes you breakfast, and checks in on everyone - it's super sweet. There is a lockout every day from 11 to 2, which can be annoying, but it gets you up and out so she can clean. Towels are extra, but fitted sheet, top sheet, and quilt provided. Cash only and they are chill about when you pay if you don't have it at arrival.

Emerald Fields is a cute little hostel that has some nice offerings and accommodations. Pros: Adorable Italian lady at the front desk (though she cannot speak anything other than Italian) Large rooms with comfortable room for everyone Breakfast served Full kitchen available for use Three sets of locked doors to get into any of the rooms Cons: No signage outside, so it was a bit difficult to find Lockers provided are cheap, bent, and beat up, indicating they are easy to get into

I wouldn't call this a hostel considering the only options for our stay was private rooms. This made it nearly impossible to meet other travelers. The rooms were wonderful though and the bathrooms were in excellent condition. It is a 5 minutes walk from the train station and 15 minutes from the Duomo. However, there isn't any type of sign for the hostel so be sure to follow the building number and the ring the bell. Overall excellent stay and I would stay here again.

This was about as 'meh' of a hostel as you can come by. Just okay in all regards. Close to SMN train station, though.

Learn Italian and stay at Emerald fields hostel while in Florence. Great location to the main train station and most big Florence tourists sites - ie uffizi, accademia, Duomo, etc. Staff was great and helpful my entire three days there. Free breakfast and pretty solid Wi-Fi. I would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Florence that gets stuff done site seeing wise. Happy travels!
