One of the earlier reviews says that the staff was a racist. I felt the same. A guy in the reception desk treated me in condescending manner and I felt insulted. The other guy in the reception desk (they rotate) and woman in the morning were great. They were nice and kind. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to any Asians. The reception desk guy will treat you inappropriate manner.

Generally clean and secure. I only spent one night, and was very happy with the price. The staff were helpful and never hard to find. Dorms have free lockers, and large luggage could be stored in a secured area on another floor. There was a breakfast of coffee and cookies provided in the morning. There are only two showers. One in a small bathroom, and another in a very large bathroom. The second one wasn't attached to the wall. A dorm style bathroom with more showers would have been nice.

I liked that it was close to the train station but it took so long to walk into the city! Otherwise, it was just what I needed!

A really nice hostel. About five minutes to the market square. The only enoying thing is that they have a lockout between 11-14 due to cleaning, and they don't have a stove... Otherwise it's perfect!

Florence is a great city; not too big. This hostel is in a good location, about 7 minutes from SMN Station (Not the 2 minutes given in their directions). Daniele, who runs the place, is a great guy who gave us everything we needed. The kitchen facilities at this place are awesome, so it's a good opportunity to buy food from local supermarkets and prepare it at the hostel, thereby saving valuable Euros on your travel allowance.

It's a little bit far since Florence is small, 6-8mins from the station. No lock or security card of door may be an issue but I'm totally ok to it since personal locker is provided. Kitchen is big but no fire to cook, oven may be good enough though. Staff are all friendly and it's very clean. Good to stay in especially if you are going in a group of friends! Pay in cash as reminder~

I felt very welcome at Emerald Fields! The staff was very friendly. Facilities were clean, both the bathrooms and the rooms. It was really close to everything in Florence as well. The only part I didn't like about staying here was that the door to the room didn't have a lock. Thankfully, they provided lockers, but I still would have liked the lock on the door.

Emerald Fields is very convenient to get to from the main train station. The first night that we arrived, the hostel was overbooked and we were forced to stay in a room of the staff quarters a couple doors down. It was a little awkward because we couldn't use that kitchen and we could hear people roaming about the apartment at night. The bathroom wasn't the nicest and always had a weird smell coming from them. I'd reccommend it for the location.

Good hostel, it was near the train station but really hard to find. It's literally just a number on the building so it makes it hard to find at night. Cash only was annoying! It was in walking distance to everything, or the bus was around the corner. I would stay here again.....but seriously guys....buy a sign.

it's near railway station and it's not far from Academia as well as Cathedrals. I like the time to stay here. Bedroom and bathroom are clean and staff are nice.

Great Hostel - good wifi, a solid 10minute walk to the trainstation. Helpful staff, decent kitchen and smoking area. Our room was even upgraded to a suite! There is a lockout for cleaning every day which can kind of suck but at the same time it gurantees everything is clean. The common room/kitchen/smoking area is closed at midnight. This forces you to party at one of the few local bars (which is alright too I guess)

Hostel is in need of a makeover or a reboot. It's just super-quiet, not very social at all. No sense of community. One of the staff members, Luca I think, was super chill. Not sure why they had to close the kitchen area at 1am, especially if it was dead anyway. Beds are super comfortable though; got a great night's sleep; but you don't want to spend more than a night here.

The location is about 10-15 min walk with luggage from the train station. It is not so far from the main sightseeing place. There are free Wifi and computer to use however some room can retrieve the signal. There is coffee and cookie provided in the morning. The staffs are friendly. The place is clean and calm.

Room was good, free lockers. Wi fi in the room was on and off, but you cant really complain as its free. Staff really friendly, gave me a great recommendation for dinner. Over all very good stay and I would go back.
