We had a very lovely stay and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. However, I was under the impression that a three bed room would mean three single beds or 1 single bed and 1 bunk bed. Instead we got a double bed and a single bed.

Overall a nice hostel situated in a nice environment upon the hill. However, beds are too hard, even for Chinese standards. Bathroom cleanliness could be improved.

The hostel is rented by the people who run it but the Chinese family who own it still live on sight and they are not visitor friendly at all. The people who run the hostel are really friendly and helpful but the hostel is too far away from West lake, the City and places to eat.

Very comfortable and airy rooms. Cool refreshing mountain air and tranquil atmosphere makes this place a great holiday retreat for those seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle of west lake. Friendly dogs and staff were very helpful in securing the Impression West Lake tickets for us. Only thing is it's quite far from eateries.

the two bosses were very friendly with perfect english. she even got some train tickets for us! another lady at the reception hardly spoke english and started to argue when i wanted to get my deposit back but finally everything turned out ok. the room was clean but the closets unfortunately were smelling of mould! location was beautiful and quiet but quite far away from the city. internet was completely free!!

When we stayed at Emeralds, they didn't have a kitchen and couldn't serve breakfast. Then there is a long way to get some food - and planning your day gets a little hard.   Read Owner Comments
