In the room number 5 there are 2 Indians using the place as home and one of them dont care about other ppl... speaking on the phone (in the room) around 1am and things like that. He's REALLY rude. His bed and the area around is really messy and dirty!!! Made me feel a pig...

The only downside of staying at Empire Hostel is the location. Cant complain about anything else really. But of course, considering the price, you cant complain too much about the location i guess. But if you want to live close to where it happens you should not stay at this hostel. If you want to save some money on the hostel and dont mind taking the train, who is around 800-1000 m away, Empire Hostel is perfect for you :)

Great value for money. Nice staff who cleans up the place properly every day. Quiet, clean and comfortable dormitories. It is not in the heart of the city but it's very easy to go by MRT everywhere. Place is quite new and it's a plus because it's clean and things are not broken and dirty like in some other hostels. There are three shower rooms so normally you don't have to queue to take a shower. I recommend!

Hi, The Hostelworld.com Team We went there on 26 April but couldn't find the Empire Hostel.(2F, 202A Syed Alwi Rd) People live there told us the hostel already closed couple months ago...fortunately did we find another hotel, we can't imagine what it will become if we hang around all midnight in Little India....that place isn't that safe. We insist your staff return our deposit as soon as possible and remove the web page of Empire Hostel in case of more backpackers run into the wrong way. p.s Our

A nice place to stay. The staff are very hospitable. It can be a little crowded at times. A good bang for your buck.

I like Sue (their receptionist), she's very nice. We just lost some food from the fridge though because two Indian men stole them. My mum caught them in action late at night, when she decided to stay late and prepare for her departure the next day.

Ok place to stay, just not that much fun. Singapore is not a fun place! The hostel was pretty clean and the best thing was the massage chair! I would stay here again...
