Great location at a value price with friendly staff. We stayed in a double bed room with bathroom. My husband was doubtful because I got a "cheap" deal. I felt comfortable with the reviews I read online, but wasn't 100% sure what to expect of a hostel. The music at night didn't bother us. A variety of restaurants are closeby, as well as Walgreens and Whole Foods. Transportation is convenient.

All rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy to use. Great security and staff were helpful when asked. Great location to town and fishermans wharf. Would have liked a kitchen but other than that it was great for our purpose.

Overall a very pleasant stay. Bathrooms were very clean and it was more like a hotel than a hostel. We had a sink in our room with clean towels and toiletries.

I\'d confirm that towels/bedding, etc are included - the website\'s a little confusing. If you can check the bathrooms a bit more to avoid wet floor mats it would be great. Although we heard the music from the studio, it wasn\'t too bothersome since they stopped around 11-11:30pm but if there is a way to soundproof a bit more, all the better.

The hostel is nicely located in walking distance to the starting points for sight seeing tours (cable cars, union square) Staff was nice, there was no problem to store the luggage. Also the room was very clean and suprisingly quiet. I thought you could hear the other guest walking on the stairs (infront of our room) but we didn't hear anything. What could be improved is the shower head on the secon floor. Water came out with a lot of pressure, not really comfortable. However definitely good p/v

This was our first experience at a hostel and it was quite wonderful. We hope to find more in the future.

Noisy. Rehearsal space in the basement not a good idea, given that a motel is a place where people actually want to sleep!

The hotel is conveniently located in the central part of the city. The rooms are nice but only have a sink, lacking a private bathroom. The hotel also doesn\'t serve any breakfast. Also, many things in the room failed to work, like the remote controler and some of the sockets. Yet the price is pretty high. The staff seemed friendly and helpful but the reception only opens late in the morning so it\'s rather difficul to get things done at the beginning of the day.

I really enjoyed this place. Funky decor, comfy bed, older but well cared for. The shared baths were always clean. Rooms were a good size and came with a sink and fridge which was an added convenience. Location was good- close to lots of restaurants and if you're into walking places this was a really good starting point for most tourist spots. There were some shady ppl hanging in the streets a block or so from the hotel but felt safe overall and the hotel itself was fine. I'd stay here again.

Clean and generally pretty decent place to stay. Easy to get around from but in a boring neighborhood. Staff were very helpful!

Great place to stay for someone passing through. Room was comfortable and relatively spacious, shared bathrooms were clean beyond expectations. Very cheap considering other properties in the city. Some music floats up from the practice room downstairs, but it's done by whenever you'd typically want to get to bed, and it's not half bad in any case. A bit of a walk from the main stretch of downtown, but well-serviced by public transit. Would stay again.

We reserved a spot well in advance. We were coming later, at 11.30 pm, and I notified the staff that we were coming late. AFter a 10 hour flight we were pretty tired. The staff replied to me it wasn't a problem that we came in late and we just needed to call a phone number. AFter taking a cab werang the bell and called the phone number a bazillion times, but nobody was there. In a new city at 12.00 am with no place to stay. They stood us up and we ended paying $150 at a hotel..

Many thanks to JoAnn, Carlos, and Frank for their hospitality. The hotel is located on a quieter street than the hostels in the Union Square area. This of course means that you have to do a little walking to get downtown. There are busses that run nearby. This place is pretty low key, but I happen to like that. There is no common room, but you can use the computer in the office, and the microwave in the hall.

The Hostel was really clean and the room was nice - especially for the price. The restrooms were pretty clean most of the time, and except for one of them the receptionists were friendly. The only problem was, that some locals told us that the area where the Hostel is, isn\'t the safest. It wasn\'t really a problem for us since we never got back in the dark and during the day we felt really safe! But be sure to know that if you\'re only girls travelling, it can be risky, and coming home in the dark may
