Encounters has clean, safe accommodation in the heart of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Our balconies overlook one of the few open spaces in the city: the wide boulevard is peaceful at night.

Selected rooms come with breakfast included. You can choose tea/coffee, fresh fruit juice, and a choice of wholemeal toast, pancakes, fruit salad or muesli. All guests who return are eligible to upgrade to the special offer on arrival. This breakfast is also available to all guests for $3.75 (€2.70, £2.40), and we also have a full menu.

Our restaurant introduces new arrivals to Cambodian food, and we have western and world dishes. You can learn to cook Khmer food.

We have bed-side safety lockers, same-day laundry service, and no curfew.

We pick you up from local stations with our free 24-hour tuk-tuk service. We can also meet you at the airport, charging the same or less than the airport, and without the stress. There is no bus service from the airport. We recommend our pickup service: many tuk-tuk and taxi drivers are not familiar with Phnom Penh, overcharge and hassle you for more work.

Accurate advice comes from long experience as world travellers and extensive knowledge in Cambodia. We have been to places the guide books never heard of. And returned to tell the tale!

Each bed in non-aircon dorm rooms has its own fan and mosquito net. Non-group dorm rooms have bedside lockers or lockers in the corridor.
