I cannot believe this place got good ratings. For those of you leaving good reviews in exhange for free beer, discount, etc.. I hope you spend a few nights in a horrible place and think about whether it's worth the free beer. Not saying this place is doing it but what I found was a dirty smelly place with aweful staff who has no business in a hospitality job. The bed was cheap metal bunk that creaked at the slightest movement and hand rails about to fall off. Location was horrible and they refus
Loved our experience at the hostel. The owner Robert is super helpful with anything you need, you don't need to worry about booking anything anywhere else he can sort you out with anything. The owners also create a great atmosphere and are friendly and welcoming, we're coming back to this hostel every time we stay in Phnom Penh throughout our stay in Cambodia.
I enjoyed my stay here. Great staff. Robert knows a lot and have some good advice on PP and Cambodia. Not a party hostel, but social area to meet people and bar. Rooms were very clean and spacious. The free laundry is a nice perk :)
Robert is a great host with a plethora of knowledge about the surrounding area. The hostel was clean, convenient and reasonably priced.
You get a mattress on the floor, which is the one thing I didnt care for. Otherwise a good choice, cheap tickets further on and helpful staff.
Good hostel for a very reasonable price. It is near to the river bay, the night market and some other spots in Phnom Penh.
Robert is the man! Definitely a no frills hostel, but if you're a solo traveler it's a great place to meet other people. The owner is always happy to give advice or just have a chat.
I did not have a very good experience at this hostel. I found the staff to be very rude, the rooms were stuffy and I was also overcharged for my bus to Senmonorom. (Should be $12, they charged me $16). The location is ok and it's good value for money but I definitely would never stay here again.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. They have a dog, who is a loveable, playful little scamp. Location is good, but not spectacular; it's 5-10 minutes walk to get to the waterfront, bars, restaurants, Wat Phnom and the night market. Dorm room was clean and spacious, although the beds were awfully squeaky. Shower was warm. Wifi was good.
The owner Robert is the best of my experience in this hostel, very knowledgable and talkative about Cambodia history and current situation, it was a pleasure to listen to his histories. Bed are good, clean and the staff very helpful in organizing everything for you. The free laundry is a plus. Good location.
Lovely guesthouse. Staff are really nice, helpful and talkative...a little wacky but in the nicest way. We had a great time staying here and made some really good friends. This is definitely a hostel for a chilled out person though, slow pace of life and nothing done in a rush, not great if you like things in a hurry. About 10/15 minutes from night market and the river. Cheap beers and everything's on a tab - which can creak up on you if you don't keep count. Cold showers but much needed !!
We had a great stay. Well situated to cheap eats. Can arrange tours easily with fellow guests to share transport costs. Robert is very helpful with your questions. Thanks for everything!
A great little hostel. Nicely sized, a nice place to meet people. The couple that run it are very friendly and good to talk to and really make a good effort to arrange things like tours and buses. All the other guests were nice and on the whole it was a great stay. Happy to recommend.
Good cheap hostel for a stopover. Staff was very helpful. Great location next to cool stuff. Go to Viva and get the nachos.
Overall OK. Robert the owner is English (nice to have staff speak fluent English for a change). The rooms are OK. I would have enjoyed a window in our room (smelled a little musty) and the beds were super loud and creaky. Location is amazing thorough.
Clean, good location and very helpful owners. Recommended.
Only stayed here for a couple of nights. Was a great location and very nice. Robert knows his stuff about Phnom Penh and his wife is lovely. If you want a break from Asian food they serve up an amazing burger and fries.
Nice basic hostel, close to everything, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Stayed in the 7bed dorm, mosquito nets and fans for each bed (mattress on the floor - very comfy). Shared tours to popular spots easily arranged by board in reception area. I'd highly recommend to solo travellers. The upstairs bathrooms sometimes ran out of toilet paper in the morning.
This is a standard, clean hostel. Food is nice+cheap. It is located beside the night market (which isn't great btw)+the giantibis bus centre(which is very handy). Tuk tuk drivers are readily available+the owner will give advice about where to go+how much to pay. Lockers are located in a common area, not in your dorm or private room. The showers were also cold. It lacked in atmosphere+ is little under staffed so dont be in a rush for anything! There are only matresses+fans in the larger dorms.
An excellent hostel serving as an oasis of calm in a very chaotic city. We stayed in a dorm with mattresses on the floor, each one had a fan, powerplug and net! Free pickup from bus station and free laundry was very appreciated. The owner is really knowledgeable and engaging, and eager to help but really all the staff were markedly friendly. Located within walking distance of riverside, and night and central market. Would absolutely recommend hostel.
