The free city tour was wonderful when trying to get your directions straight in Madrid. It allows you to see all the central cities (breifly). My only qualm about this specific hostel was the secuirity. Yes, you had to walk passed the main desk, but othere than there there was nothing. However, this location is less that five minutes from SOL, and a ten-fifteen minute walk from El Prado y Reina Sofia y Buen Retiro Park.

Rooms and halls are a bit depressing but if you're not going to spend a lot of time in the room, it's no big deal. The location is amazing- between the Prado museum and Sol.

The bed was comfortable, the shower hot and the breakfast adequate. Annoyances include broken lockers and only one key for everyone in same room. Also the internet did not work very well. There was a noisy construction site next to the hotel so bring your earplugs if you want to sleep after 7 am.

Nice hostel in the very centre, great for partying for those who love going out, very noisy in the night.

No real kitchen (in case you want to cook anything - just a microwave). Breakfast is standard but unlimited :) It's an excellent location but as it's in city center it might be quite noisy during the night (because of the noise in the streets) so have your earplugs ready.

Hello, While I found the staff excellent & friendly, the facilities such as the computers were not very good. some of them did not work properly. Also 3 out of 4 nights were very noisy all night long and it was hard to get some decent sleep. So this problem needs to be fixed. As you know travelling takes a lot out of you and everyone needs a good night sleep to recover properly. Double gl azing would eliminate a lot of outside traffic and other noises. The computer is not working correctly.

Tight, unilluminated (they do have electricity, but I'm talking here about the lack of a window) and stale air in the room. no pillow, just a linen.

For that price you simply can't find a better place ! The breakfast is big and great, wifi access and computers and the staff is nice. the only problem could be the noise because of the street La Cruz which is a very crowded street during the night, so think about ear plug and you have a perfect cheap place to stay.

A great central location and a good price. Dorms are comfortable and clean but there were a few small annoyances. Each dorm had only one key (rather than a key for each inhabitant). Hostel is popular with school tour groups, so there are groups of teenagers clattering around at all times of day. To get onto the top bunks, you basically have to grab the railing and swing yourself up like a chimpanzee - anyone with short legs, stiff joints, or weak arms should ask for a bottom bunk.

It's a great hostel, the location is wonderful and the staff is so atencious.

The only positive thing I can say about this hostel is that it was cheap. There was virtually no security because the lockers in the rooms were all broken, there was only one key per dorm and no one was asked for ID when entering the hostel. The rooms were in poor condition, the bathroom in my room had lots of rust and some mould and the sink leaked, also one of the plug sockets was hanging out from the wall. The internet only worked in lobby and there was little character and atmosphere.

Special comment for the very sympathic staff. This hostel is very well-located but don't think to sleep in certain rooms...They give to the Calle Street, especially crowded and noisy on saturday night at least ! But this is the charm of the lovely Madrid !

The room tiny and not very clean, the girl in the bunk next to me had to walk over my bed to get down as the stairs were stuck and there was only one stairs for two bunks, the bathroom was a joke, so tiny im not sure you could fit if you are fat (not being ironic, you had to slide to get inside). The staff was ok and the location really good, it was really bad that we had to check out at 10 am.

The hostel is in a good location, surrounded by loads of bars and restaurants (so don't expect to sleep on a weekend night if your room is facing the street) and walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Sol, Retiro, Mercado de San Miguel... Everything nearby. Our room was quite old so the lockers did not work but we could leave our valuables at reception. Good value for money.

Really good hostel for the price, can't complain about anything and the staff were excellent and the 24 hour reception very useful.
