Overall I didn't mind our stay here.

Great location close to all the action, fantastic rooftop with hammocks overlooking the beach. Really clean dorms, comfy beds and friendly staff

I recently stayed at hostel esperanto and had the best time EVER. Such a good location and terrace is just wonderful, the perfect place to relax after partying with an amazing sea view.....The staff at the hostel were also very helpful with all my needs and the place was incredibly clean....to be honest I don't know how they managed it...... I would recommend if you are coming to montanita stay here because it's close enough to the party but far enough away that you can relax! 10/10

We really enjoyed our stay at the Esperanto Hostel. We felt comfortable all the time. The staff was very kind and helpful. We definitely recommend a stay at the Esperanto Hostel.

Had a great stay at Esperanto. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Ideal location close to the beach, restaurants and bars. The staff ensured we enjoyed our time in Montanita. Cheers to Leni and Lorna for the friendly hospitality!

Overall it was pretty decent. Was looking forward to sitting in the hammocks on the balcony, but for some reason they didn't have them despite all the pictures. When we asked the staff they just looked at us like we didn't know what we were talking about, even after showing the pictures they posted online. Rooms were clean and the proximity to the beach and nightlife was really good. Just far enough away that the noise won't keep you up all night if you decide not to go out.

thank you for your comments and sorry about the Hammocks incident, the owner is writing this comments and i was abroad Ecuador, i found out that the 3 hammocks were just ripped and broken unfortunately 2 days before =( and was changing actually for new ones 2 days later your lefts, sorry for that inconvineance about hammucks in your 3 days of staying i understand your dissapoint about your expectation, and maybe the brand new wood beach seat were not enoguht in the terrace meanwhile

Very clean hostel on the other side of the river which meant it was quiet at night - could only hear the sound of the waves. Expensive though being $20 just for a dorm bed! Not much atmosphere either. Met most people out and about in Montanita.

This place was great. The best part is the rooftop patio - very close to the beach so you can hear the waves from the patio. It's great. Location overall is good. 5 minute walk to the centre of town (Montanita is very small) and right by the beach. Only downside is the hostel didn't serve breakfast - but they did have a kitchen. Would definitely recommend!

It was a great hostel, but had no space to socialize and get to know other travellers. It'd be great if they provided breakfast, I think people would pay more and would be more keen on staying there. Great terrace by the way. If you go to Montañita for the vibe and party, is better to go on the weekends

Amazing seaview from the terass. Wi-fi in the room, that is really good. Beautiful backpacker hostel!!!

The hostel is a small tower with a couple of rooms on each floor. We were on the 3rd floor in room 6 - up a few sets of very steep stairs. The last bit was more like going up a ladder, which was difficult with luggage. Our room had a double sized bunk bed, which was comfortable enough. I wasn't feeling well, so I slept on the bottom, while my husband took the top. He was distressed to find hair strands up there. Drumming and loud music interrupted our sleep every night, sometimes till dawn.

sorry for your inconvenience about the hair on the bed, i will ask to the cleanning staff be carfully , with it using perhpas caps because we clean as you saw every day the rooms, and i assume you find just the 1s day that event and not the other days. . Montañita is a backpackr town, with maybe more than 90 % for young people travelers, and nfortunately is party town well know and you stay the weekend, besides ourhostel is kind " awaty" the town and we try be quiet

Away from the main drag, which was nice for noise control. Staff were hit and miss, depended who was on that day. Nice rooms though
