we had a double room with an ensuite in this hostel which is more a hotel than anything! we loved this place and it had a communal kitchen which is always a plus. facilities were good and staff were very helpful. room was clean and shower was hot with good pressure. location was excellent. we were right next to the main station and could easily walk anywhere in Florence without too much trouble. i would definately recommend to anyone staying in Florence.

By far one of the nicest places I have stayed in while traveling. The location is excellant and easy to find. The people who work there are so nice and accomodating. The room was large and very clean. They serve guests a breakfast that is amazing. If you are traveling to Firenze, this is the place to stay.

It's like home away from home. Refurbished room, clean, fantastic shower, computer, English TV channels, kitchen... We had a very comfortable stay. It is 5mins walk to the train station which is great if you're using the Eurail pass. A number of day tours set their meeting point at the train station as well. Convenience was key for us. Easy walk to attractions. There is always someone at the reception. You can book the tours through the hotel.

The three young people at the desk are very friendly and helpful--with questions about the city, reservations, or whatever. The location was great for us, a block from the SMN train station, and a 10" to 15" walk from major sights: Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, Bargello Museum, Duomo, Accademia (David), San Marco Museum, shopping, and the Mercato Centrale. They recommend a good near-by breakfast cafe and restaurant. This hostel is a very good value, comfortable place to stay

BEST HOSTEL EVER!! If you are going to stay anywhere in Florence... make this hostel a must! The location was perfect. Less then 3min walk to main Train station. 2min walk to leather market. Right in the middle of everything! Our room was amazing. The bathroom was comparable to a 4 star hotel. We had a computer right in our room with FREE internet. Flat screen tv with ENGLISH channels. No other hostel offered this. The owner was very very helpful. She offered us everything and beyond. STAY HERE!

This was a great place to stay in all regards. The staff is fantastic and very helpful. Anna is amazing. The setting with all of the different hotels in one building is a little confusing when you first get there, but once you are in Hotel Ester it is reasonably quiet, affordable, and one of my rooms had a postcard view of the Duomo and San Lorenzo.

The rooms are very good: spacious, clean, confortable bed and the view from the city is tremendous, specially from the room at the roof top. Don't let your self down with the character of the building entrance, once you get to the rooms you wil be surprised. I will definetly come back to this hotel and I would recomend it.

The room was very nice, everything I could ask for. The painted walls, large double bed, and big wardrobe made it feel like a home. Everything was cleaned for us each day, and all our property was respected. The hot water heater did turn off twice, but the staff responded quickly to our call and it was fixed in 20 minutes. The staff was always available and hospitable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is simple, clean, and comfortable. Good value for the price, and a great location.

We had a lovely stay in Florence. The hotel was excellent! Amazing location, great staff and the room was very clean and comfortable - with a computer, tv and free wifi. We stayed during winter and the room was toasty; the hot water worked perfectly as well. This was an excellent stay for us and we would absolutely recommend it.

Marco was casual but accommodating. All the construction work was distracting but necessary for their upgrade. Good place for one or two adults. I think kids would be bored. Lost hot water for 2 days, but they were concerned and fixed it as soon as they could.

We were very pleased with the accommodations. The rooms were very clean and the service and recommendations for local restaurants were exceptional. We will definitely have this on our travel itinerary next time we are in Firenze.

Overall a good experience: quite large room with pc and sky tv, excellent location (basically on the station square), close to relatively affordable cafes and restaurants.

On our trip around Europe, this was one of the most disappointing hostels we stayed at. The showers are very poor and ran cold for most of our stay. The receptionist was average - told us to come back and speak to him later because he was skyping with his family :s I wouldn't recommend staying there if you have any other option...at all.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi Dean , this is Marco, the Hotel Manager, I need to tell you 3 things : 1. I am very sorry you had prolems with the hot water , in that day we were fixing the heater and i can assure you and travellers that now the water is " too hot" ,unluckely Hotel is a business running 24h 7/7 all year long and sometimes these things happen. 2. the biggest sorry is about i was not here that day , and Cant believe my worker at night told you those words, anyway, i know he talks a lot on skype and for this reason i decided not to allow him at all on doing this ever again during working and i reduced is work time of 50% !! thank you for let me know about this big mistake from him. 3. i really think you exaggerated on your comment and rating on Hotel Ester because if you cut that episode( not normal and not usual) i dont think you find around the world my services for 20 euros a night. maybe..my worker did another big mistake , did not tell you about that either. sorry again. Marco
