This was a very nice hostel.

Very clean and great bedrooms. Good location right next to beach. It was a pity that the individual kitchen was open very limited hours (especially in the evening) which meant I wasn't able to cook my own meals, which is something I like to do when I stay in a hostel as eating out in St Malo is expensive. Overall a good stay .

Im sure it would be pretty good during the high season. There is no hostel atmosphere and sat and sun, the days I was there, their facilities are closed

My friends and I were so impressed with this hostel! It was very clean, and our room was huge (4 person private with bathroom--the bathroom was huge, too!)! The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. I would definitely stay there again.

it's just like a holiday village, reception office, restaurant building... they got ping pong, pool balls, bar, nice breakfast, really clean and modern room, self service kitchen... overall it's a really nice hotel. But require the youth hotel member card and wifi is only in some district. the location is beneath the sea so a bit far from the SNCF train station, though u can go there by bus no.3 (just 7 mins by bus/1.25€ single ticket)

The hostel was perfect for me. I stayed in the brand new section which is spacious, comfortable and so sparkling clean! My only negative comment is that one blanket with a vinyl mattress cover(with sheets on top of course) is not enough for winter. An underblanket and two for on top would be perfect. The staff were fabulous and the proximity to the beach was a welcome surprise! Highly recommended!

It ended up being a mix of community center and hostel. Was a fine place to stay for a night. Very clean and the rooms had plenty of space.

Really great hostel. Super nice receptionists who helped me figure out how to get to Mont-Saint-Michel and even called other hotels in French for me. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet! It's a quick 5-minute bus ride from the train station but the buses stop running around 9pm so I had to navigate through winding suburban streets in the dark to find the place. It's half an hour on foot to Intra-Muros (the old walled city) but it's right down the street from bakeries, restaurants, and a Carrefour.

This was my first experience staying in youth hostel/auberge de jeunesse in France. And I really enjoyed it! Although some were complaining because there were disabled persons, but I found it find, the atmosphere was nice. A little advice, it would be great to add a small carpet/mat for the bathroom. Also to put and explain more info, like the reduction for several activities nearby (Cinema, Boat, etc), and details for check-out (if maybe we need to put somewhere the bed linen, blanket).

Patrick Varangot was fantastic, the staff were so helpful and kind (when I was going to be spending Xmas Eve on my own I was invited to dinner with the residents and staff, which was fantastic). The facilities were fine; access, kitchen, entertainment, wi-fi. The residents were fun and tried hard, oh so very hard, to help me improve my French. I would recommend this place to absolutely anybody. Merci beaucoup et bonne annee!

I found this a little on the expensive side but I suppose that could have been down to it being France, or it being the only Youth Hostel in the area. As I arrived late the only way to get to the hostel was by Taxi - if it had been during the day though I would still have had to take a taxi some of the way to the airport. Rooms were very spacious and well-furnished, some newer than others, good facilities. Very quiet, not much to do apart from watch TV and one computer with Internet access.
