This is the place to stay in Brasov... in all of Romania, in fact. Eugene is the nicest hostel manager I've met! He's very accomodating and super friendly and he knows a ton about Romania history, past and present. He speaks great English (especially for someone who has never to the States); take the Bran Castle tour with him, you'll have an absolute blast!This is the place to stay in Brasov... in all of Romania, in fact. We really enjoyed our stay and Eugene and his mother were extremely welcoming and hospitable. Our room was huge, and the guesthouse is only a short walk to city center. Eugene went out of his way to help us w our travel plans and even arranged a tour to bring us to see Poenari castle and then brought us back to the airport in Bucharest. It would have been impossible to fit all that in w/out his help. And his mother was so incredibly nice too! The guesthouse was great, Gene really tried to make sure you felt at home. Main square is within walking distance, train station is close, and the home is very nice. Would definitely recommend. This isnt a party hostel or a place where you will meet tons of people however its a great location. Cheap bus or taxi ride from the train station (around 5 lei). Free wifi. The best part is the owner who has a hand drawn map of Brasov and knows the city and areas from back to front. If you want to know anything and everything to do in Brasov and at the 2 castles and 1 fortification near it this is the perfect place for you.
