despite the previous reviews I\'ve read on the internet or hostels.com Euphemia hostel is fairly good, our room was clean, nice staff and the price is alright for this kind of room. close to the center, easy to get there walking (15/20mins) or even faster with the tram(10mins). Close to the museum district. I\'d recommend it!

in a quieter area of amsterdam but still within walking distance of the red light district, counter staff seemed grumpy, staircase was extremely steep, they charge 5 euro for ''breakfast'' (go next door and eat at the cafe for the same price).

Good location and beds/bathroom are clean enough to stay. Plus, it is easy to find it.

it's a good place to sleep, usually very friendly staff, too bad it's so old that is doesn't have the facilities to be one of the best hostel

We had great experience in Amsterdam. Thanks to our great location from Dam/Rembrant square. Rooms are a little bit small, but CLEAN! Steps are little bit dangerous and high.:( Stuff are very kind, especially menager of hotel!

We had a great experience at this Hotel. It definately rides the line between a Hotel and a Hostel, but for what we were looking for, it was perfect. The location is towards the outside of the city center, but it's right off of one of the main streets branching from the center, so like everything in Amsterdam, it's a quick walk from anywhere. It's also right by a couple of the different tram lines, so if that's what you're interested it, works for that too. But a good place for a weekend.

The staff there were all very friendly and helpful! There was no check-in after 11pm and my coach was delayed so I didn't arrive in Amsterdam till 11pm. I managed to get hold of a phone and called reception just after 11pm and the staff was helpful and waited until I got to the hostel. I checked in the next morning with no problem. I was grateful for that thank you!

The staff was very friendly. They don't clean the rooms every day, so there was no more space in the little wastebin. The facilities are all right. Not expansive. I would stay there again!

They charged me very much for the general price of hostels. Supposed to take 10% on reservation, they took it 25%. First night was people arguing about beds, including my bed. No one to resolve it as it as in the night shift. Cleaning is very rare! 5 days i was there the trash wasnt change not even once. Bathroom was disgusting. And all for the price of a normal hotel. Location is not horrible, but far from the center as the public transportations stops att 00:00. So you are stuck in there...

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. You can walk around Amsterdam, step by step. It's a central hotel. 10+ About cleanliness, it's not so good: for 3 days no cleaning woman, that's to say no cleaning towel no cleaning double sheet. Bad. Very bad. Staff nice, if you need something. In the end, gently expensive for a short period.

all was fine , but because staff leaves at 2300hrs the noise levels were intense till 530 am next morning , so difficult to get any sleep at all , smoking was going on even though it is a non smoking establishment, management and staff friendly, breakfast selection poor and not inclusive., .

The best of the hostal was the location, near of the main squares with restaurants and pubs. The place was secure too. The problem is the price-quality of service. In three days they didn´t change the bed-clothes or empty the rubbish. The room was clean when we arrived, but the dirty rise everyday. They didn´t change our towels too. The personal was rude and not very polite. There is no 24h recepticion, i.e, if you lose keys you´re out. Sincerely, we have been in best hostels

The location was good (100 meters from the hostel), but our room was horrible, and everything looked old, cheap and dusty. The photos on the Internet are better than they got us. We also made a request to change the duration of our stay, the concierge was a bit rude to us when he said NO: our advice is to review the policy before booking.

Staff could be more friendly. One employee says one thing, another says the opposite.
