Excellent location close to the train station, Stubnerkogelbahn to get you high into the mounbtains, Felsentherme. Temporarily construction behind the hotel, and a 10 minute walk to the nearest grocery store. Good local bus service to other grreat area towns. Room very clean with huge bright modern bathroom. Some old ambience in other areas, rather charming. Staff very friendly. Noise from construction and trains. Good value. I will go back.
We were welcomed by a nice receptionist at 23:00 and informed about the dos and not. Morning complimentary breakfast was really good and sufficient. Would definitely love to come back if our travel plan has the Bad Gastein on the way.

Great hostel, amazing bar, and really cool staff. the perfect trifecta!
The dorm was closed (LOW SEASON) and I had a fully equipped single hotel room, incl, breakfast buffet. The Hotel/Hostel is located opposite the railway station of Badgastein (on the way between Salzburg and North Italy and a cablecar up to a summit with a marvelous view. The "World Spa" of Bad Gastein had seen better days, but the landscape is still beautiful.
I was given a free upgrade to a single private room, which was nice. Was very much more of a hotel experience, rather than a hostel. Everything was very nice though, good bar and restaurant and an excellent breakfast. Staff were friendly and helped me with directions and train times etc.
Very comfy beds. Booked a shared room and got a private 3 bed. Not really a "Hostel" for meeting people, setup as a cost effective hotel.
Basically a hotel turned hostel, which is good because it was so cheap! Not much of a hostel atmosphere to meet people or anything but has everything you need. Breakfast was awesome, great rooms, lots of things to do! Great location as well!
This is the best hostel I've stayed in on my trip so far. An amazing hostel/hotel in a perfectly situated location just across the street from the train station. The staff are really friendly and extremely helpful with any requests. I was given a free upgrade to a single room from a dorm because they weren't very busy at the time. Excellent facilities. A big Spar supermarket is located just next door to the hostel. I highly recommend the bahnhof (train station) restaraunt across the street.
A well located, well run hostel. More like a hotel than many hostels. Single rooms were an advantage because single travellers often have to choose between a dormitory and paying for two for a double room.Rooms was large, very clean and modern.
Had a really great time on this excellent hostel! Best location in town with less than 5 min walk to lift (stubnerkogenbahn), skibuses and afterski/restaurants/nightclub. Lounge with pooltable, dart and a soccergame. Nice bar with a retaurant with good prices. The only thing I call for is a sauna next to the showerrooms.

Fantastic hostel! The location is unbeatable if you want to go skiing, go to a spa or travel by train. The beds in the dorm have a high quality (no squeaking, new mattresses and crisp, white linen) and the hostel in general is well maintained and clean. Staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast is included - fresh fruits, hard boiled eggs, rolls and bread from the bakery, cheese, ham etc etc.. It made it hard to leave! Thanks a lot!
Nice place, free upgrade to a private room, great staff, good breakfast, stay 2 nights get the 3rd free.
Amazing place, great staff. Upgraded to a private room at no cost. Really close to train station, very clean. Like staying in a nice hotel. Beautiful surrounding area and the staff will help with anything you need.
Great hostel! We stayed for four nights in July and got upgraded to a private room for free. The breakfast that was included was really good and so was the staff. The offer some activities like paragliding, rafting and canyoing, which we all tried and really enjoyed.
The hostel is in a beatiful building in Belle Epoque style, the staff is very kind with 2 very nice girls, the restaurant gives you a good food wit cheap impense; all around marvelous panoramas, you couldn´t ask more!
Pretty good value for money...although it is in the middle of nowhere! Bad Gastein was simply a transit point for us during a trip across Austria but the hostel was comfortable, clean and kindly upgraded us to a double room. The breakfast is great!!!
When we arrived we were upgraded from a 10 bed dorm to a twin private with no extra cost. The place was pretty quite during Summer because it is off season and all the other guests were elderly. Had a good breakfast and the recption had lots of information about Bad Gastein and the surrounding towns. Had dinner in their restaurant and it took awhile to be served especially considering there weren't many people eating at the time.
We (me and 3 others) had a great time at this hostel, the only down side to our stay was that we came to late in the season for good snow, but that was our planning fault. the town was awesome and i would not hesitate to go back. enjoy your stay.
