Nice hostel, very clean, really hot water and comfy beds. Only problem with it was the private rooms were on the ground floor and were really noisy. People were in the bar down the end and there was people moving up and down between reception and no one was being particularly loud but the noise just carried a lot and echoed and made it really hard to sleep. Dorms were upstairs so maybe that would be better.

No other hostel in South America can match Explora. When I first arrived I couldn't even believe I was staying at a hostel, the facilities were beautiful (even though a little cold). I was lucky to stay there on Thursday where every week they play live music at the bar for free (met many people there, including guests from different hostels). Andres, who used to be a lawyer, and now owns/runs the place was very helpful with me at all times and he made sure staff would help us with very inquiry.

Best place to stay when in Bogota.Right in Candelaria and near all the sights. You can have a dorm room or a private room with bathroom. Eggs and toast for breakfast.Staff are all helpful and speak English.

We arrived at 11pm, front desk didn't have our reservations for a private room with bathroom but put us in a empty 4 bed dorm with our own bathroom. The next day we moved to a private room without a bathroom but they agreed to charge less. It was extremely helpful that the staff spoke English, as I don't think we could have straightened out those issues with my poor Spanish. Besides those kinks, the stay was wonderful.

Freezing cold. Private rooms are right beside the reception and common area. Paid for a private room to get a nights sleep. Staff had NO IDEA how to use the systems in the hostel and had ZERO interest in helping us with any local activities.

The hostel is new which made everything nice with a fresh look. Showers are AWESOME. Nice and powerful and as hot as you like. Only I had is that from the double rooms downstairs, you have to walk all the way upstairs to use the showers. That is either through the bar/ restaurant, or through reception. Also, there were some very nosiy Australians there and even though us (and several others) complained, the guy could only ask them to be quiet. They didnt listen. There needs to be rules.

I had an excellent stay at the Explora Hostel. As it is so new, it is very clean and comfortable. The WiFi works well and there are hot showers 24 hours. Breakfast is included and very nice- coffee/tea, toast and eggs. The location was was in easy access of most main attractions. The staff were very friendly and will help you with any questions you have, especially the guy who does the night shift who is awesome.

Never thought i would encounter a hostel of such quality and service in Bogota. The rooms were nice and clean, water pressure in the showers was excellent. The staff of Explora was nice and very helpful, recommending great bars and restaurants around La Candelaria.

Stayed with some friends at the hostel and really had a good time. The facilities were great compared to the other hostels we saw in the area, especially because of the new and very clean bathrooms. The people there were very nice and recommended good places to go at night and for touring. They have a little restaurant area in the back to sit, have drinks and meet people on your trip =). Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to stay in La Candelaria.
