Nice little pub and cheap hostel. It would of been perfect if there was a kitchen but for the price can't expect too much.

The Crown is a nice hostel that lies in south London. It's very simple, but I think that is part of it's charm. Clean and nice facilities, a bar downstairs and a busstop around the corner, it's well worth the visit. The only downside is the cold bathrooms and stairways, which is especially menacing in the morning. But that's probably just nit picking!

Good service. VERY clean, didn't expect such good hostel for the price we were paying. :) Many showers and toilets available too, which is pretty convenient. Location-wise isn't too strategic.

A great hostel! The beds and blankets were comfortable, free breakfast was a huge plus, and the staff were all friendly. Keep up the good work!

A. Constantly accosted by other patrons of hostel asking us to play games. B. Staff blatantly talked about us, and were prejudiced against our drink choices. C. Bathrooms, were clean, but certain indvividuals did not feel it necessary to bath. Ever. D. Don't stay in room 7 Sunday nights, three renditions of wonderwall on karaoke in under two hours while trying to sleep. E. pub is local watering hole, watched a man pass out at the bar and another lady fall through the front door.

I've stayed in this hostel three times now and find that it remains excellent value for money and exceptionally clean - the two criteria which are important to me when choosing a place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is adequate, although the Cafe Estoril - just across the road - serves excellent food. The bus stop - direct to Trafalgar Square - is just outside. Other than the lack of a guest kitchen, this hostel is as good as you'll find.

Good hostel. Rooms are clean (unless you have the misfortune of being with dirty people, of course). Location is a little inconvenient, there are buses (line 156 e.g.), but normally you'll have to take a metro after, so it's expensive to buy 2 different tickets each day, so you might want to walk to clapham common metro station directly (15 ~ 20 min). Staff is friendly but no so much. Lockers are ruined and don't work. Loud music is only at night until 12 am, is not a problem like others point.

Rooms are reasonably clean and comfortable but there is not much space to keep your luggage. Staff is ok. There is a pub downstairs (good live music on Friday), which is the common room of the hostel. Go there with a padlock, otherwise you will have to buy one for 5£. There is no hot water if many people are having a shower at the same time. Wi-fi is fast in the pub/common area. Light breakfast in the morning (tea, coffee, milk, cereals and toasts). Night bus to the centre nearby.

Very good hostel, we like it. Stuff is really nice. The only thing we were not happy about it is that in the room were a lot of old people. Some of them were rude and didn't even say hallo to us. But everything else is good :)

A very nice place and a great value. About a fifteen minute walk to closest tube station, but I really loved the area, Clapham and Battersea areas are their own great little places to spend time at. Staff great, nice having the bar downstairs to be able to relax somewhere other than the room, but music on weekends can be a little noisy on second floor. Really enjoyed my week there!

Room was reasonably clean and comfortable, if a little cramped. The doors could all use greasing though, I was always worried about walking people up when I went to the toilet at night.

Pretty nice place, basic nothing too fancy. I stayed here as a stop gap when I was on my way to Brighton. Quiet, staff were helpful, rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Location is a bit out of the way and it's a quiet pub so of you're looking for a party place this isn't it. So yeah, quiet clean and comfortable!

Very nice hostel! There are secure lockers in room around 60x50x25cm (if you have your own lock it is free), friendly staff, helpful and diligent, once there was live music at evening, but in the room was not heard. Free wi-fi, many bathrooms, cleanliness is very good when I compare to other hostels. Bar under the hostel....Only one thing ... it is little farther from center of London , but it's not terrible, there is bus stop next to hostel. For money spent it was excellent accommodation.
