Cannot recommend this hostel enough - super cheap, really nice staff, free breakfast, close to Tube station. A real gem.

The main aspect of this hostel is the nice pub at the ground floor. The hostel by itself are just some room and and clean toilette. There is NO kitchen but you can carry your food into the pub if you want.

Great experience here. A bit far from London but the tube makes everything easily accessible. Considering how expensive London is, this was an excellent bargain. Clean facilities and good breakfast (free). Only issue was that roommates often return anytime between 1 and 4 AM. But great place for a clean, safe stay.

Highly recommended for backpackers. It's centrally located and there are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. very convenience...

Like most others, I found this to be a pretty decent hostel. The common room down by the bar is relaxing and nice, you're given a 1/2 off drink coupon when you sign in, and the rooms are pretty good (though kind of drafty and old). Unfortunately, the hostel is located about a 40-minute train/tube ride from central London, which turned out to be a deal breaker for me. However, the staff are great and you get free breakfast, so - other excepting distance - this place is a good deal.

Location, cleanliness, facilities, atmosphere were all very good! Only the weekend fares are too high for backpackers

Good hostel, not far from city centre, easy public transport links, clean, nice cafe area, cheap! What more could you ask for.

Everything is great in this hostel. Very clean! But there's no kitchen.

A very clean place to stay and above all quiet at night with no lights going on and off in the early hours.

Pretty average. Not disappointed nor impressed. I didn't mind the location, one can get to the city pretty quickly with the DLR station not too far from the hostel.

Everything good really. Loved the area and the fact I could see the Thames from the room I was sleeping in. A steal at around £10 per night in May. The facilities are good. Hot showers, plenty of room for everybody. Breakfasts are good. Free cereal, toast and tea or coffee sets you up for the day. Never heard or saw any problems with security. Lockers in rooms if you wanted to use them. For being in the East End it's easy enough to find. Get off at Island Gardens tube. I shall return.

Good hostel, but about an hour from London centre. Still, the average is good for the money, and their coffee is excellent. :)

The general atmosphere was great, lots of people to meet, there's a big pub downstairs where drinks are very cheap. My only complaint is the triple bunk beds and the amount of people going in and out of room ALL night. My bed was so uncomfortable I had pointy springs in my back. It's hard to get a good nights sleep when people just get up, turn light on, slam doors, at all hours of night. ALSO NO TOWEL PROVIDED. I had to dry myself off with toilet paper.

This is not in the center of london -- about 20 minutes away by tube, however, if you don't mind the commute, it is very easy to get to and from the city center. If you are a female traveling alone, I would recommend you stay in the all-female dorm, however, because the people that stay here are mostly men. The staff is exceptional and it is a very safe place.

Really enjoyed the stay. Wish there were lockers in the room that are bigger so its able to fit a pack in, simple addition for a little peace of mind.
