This was a fantastic stay on a budget. The hosts were really helpful and extremely accomodating to my needs. They had lots of helpful advise and local knowledge and I would stay again without a second thought.

Clean and confortable Hostel . You can't find the 2nd one in Chiang Mai. Though many rules inside Hostels, they keep everything under control.

FWD house was amazing! Win was so helpful in arranging and organising our stay here we got to cram so many things into our days. The hostel is very clean and there is a locked cupboard provided to each guest that can fit all your luggage. Will definitely stay again!

Great hostel, clean, well located and with a friendly staff that is actually helpful and isn`t trying to push you too many tours. The only drawbacks are the lack of common area for socializing and hot water only on one of the bathrooms.

Located in the center of the old city, within easy walking distance to the Sunday market. The beds are boxed style so you have a good deal of privacy and a locker that can fit your entire suitcase or backpack. Staff is beyond accommodating and is willing to organize tours and transfers. I loved Chiang Mai and this hostel so much I stayed longer than I was anticipating.

If looking for a smaller hostel...with many amenities...this is a great choice. This being said, the service is suspect...they were out of toilet paper and two of us complained...instead of replacing the toilet paper...they said "We put 10 rolls in yesterday". Plus, they are maniacal about their rules. If you can deal with some of this strange behavior...then..good place to stay.

The staff was absolutely lovely, answering any and all of my questions plus catering to all of my needs. The location was ideal for all of my pursuits in Chiang Mai (near temples, the Sunday night market, restaurants, etc). This hostel is quiet; not for the party type. If you are exhausted from traveling then this is the best place to rest while still enjoying the best of Chiang Mai!

A good peaceful hostel with staff who help you out. Only issue is say is there is a lack of a major communal area, however the up side of this is there is a good solid structure to the hostel with no facility for over indulgence! Small but solid, so if you want a good efficient trip (with a facility to book paid for activities) then its a good choice with good location in the centre of town (more or less)...if you want to be surrounded by backpackers then probably not the ideal...

This hostel is quite new and has great potential. Clean and close to everything (temples, Sunday night market, restaurants, 5-10min walking distance to Taphae gate). The owners are amazing and help us with everything: direction, recommendation, tour booking. We have a great time in Chiang Mai. The living room is large with 10 beds, so do not expect to meet many packpackers; we made new friend there and went out for a drink together. It would be great if they can work on a better common area.

I really enjoyed my stay in FWD House. I can't praise the stuff enough they were extremely helpful every time I needed anything or if I wanted to book a tour/trek they were extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my stay in chiang mai. Will definitely stay here again if I'm back there. Only negative would be the lack of a common area.

A good hostel with friendly helpful staff. And a very good place to explore Chiang Mai from. Keep in mind that only the left shower has hot water. If you're after a party hostel go somewhere else as this on is quite quiet.

I stayed here back in January and had the most wonderful experience. The owners, Win and Fon, are some of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met. They arranged excursions and motor bike rentals for me, and also just hung out on the patio with their guests, talking and laughing. Also, though there are ten beds in the main room, the way they are constructed gives each guest a sense of privacy that I feel is really important in a shared room. This is an amazing place. Stay here!

Very nice little place to stay (only 10 beds), in a fairly central and quiet location. The sleeping 'units' are nice and comfortable with lockable lockers, power outlet and lamp. Staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help. One pet peeve is that the aircon in the dorm is turned off from 8am 'til 8pm (sometimes later) so if you like to sleep in, or have an afternoon kip it gets hot in the dorm REAL fast. Would be nice if they had fans available or left the AC on longer.

This was hands down, the BEST hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff goes above and beyond to help you and to make you feel secure and your stay fantastic. I would go as far as to say don't book any activities before you go, just letthem help you with it. The box style beds are nice because they give you lots of privacy, but you can still get to know the other guests. I can't say enough nice things about this place!

An excellent Hostel, I stayed at FWD for two weeks and loved it. The owners Win and Phon are truly lovely people who look after every need you have out there. The hostel has everything you want, privacy, great hostel atmosphere, cleanliness, comfort, close to everything. Win has some great contacts around the city so anything you need they can organise, and at the best prices. We made some really good friends there particularly with Win and Phon. This place is truly a home away from home.

Win and family, who run the hostel, were incredible; they were all so sweet! They knew the area well, offering suggestions on where to eat/shop and what to see/do. They made it incredibly easy to book tours and will provide transportation to places that don't have any kind of pick-up/drop-off service if you choose. This hostel is super clean. While dorm style might not appeal to some, the box-style beds make things feel a bit more private. I can't sing enough praises for FWD House; I loved it!

Win and Phon were amazing and made us feel right at home! Thank you so much for getting us amazing deals on all our outings and even making room for our friends to stay when they showed up with nowhere else to go.

I recommend all of you to visit the FWD House. It is a completely other experience compared to the other hostels I visited. Very familiar, just 10 beds give you the chance to know everybody at the hostel. Very clean and the style is not typical for a hostel, you can see the picture at the website, it looks very fashion with a small kind of asian style. The beds staying side by side so you have a lot of space for your own. The owner are very friendly and help you every time they can.
