Fine place to stay if you don't have high expectations. Location is the best part about it, but there are many hostels neighboring this one, so you can just show up and have your pick.

I have absolutely no idea how this hostel is top rated! The bed sheets and towels were both stained and the smell in the room was appalling - I peaked into another couple of rooms to see if ours was a one off but it was not. Complained to the staff members but it was pointless as they were all off the set from the movie Deliverance. Save yourself the grief and check into one of the other hostels on the street.

I really enjoyed my stay here, it is quite and away from all the noise etc of the Main Street, but still only a five minute walk to main restaurants and shops, although there is some really nice small cheap restaurants close by serving traditional food. The rooms are clean and the wifi works really well. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks :)

I spent one week in this hostel and I had a really nice day. It's a quiet place really near the thamel. Good wifi 24h. Hot shower most of the time. Clean and cheap. A good hostel!

It is a little hard to find, but follow the directions on hostel world and then it really is 100m down the road on the left! The wifi is the best I have had in Asia! Works in the room. The staff are always friendly and always help to find the best deal in what you want in the street, as everyone is out to rip you off! The roof top has a beautiful view! It is only a short walk into town and is in a nice quiet spot. Recommended!

All in all you can have there a QUIET stay in KTM. Thamel is just 2 minutes walk and around the GH you have plenty of restaurants for food. The staff is very friendly and can help with all your problems. It is a very good place in KTM

Great rooftop rooms with en suite bathrooms with seriously hot water (solar power heated) which is an absolute blessing during winter! And the rooftop has a view across the city towards Monkey temple and is a great place to chill out with a beverage ( Great Masala Chai ) after a day taking in the sights around Kathmandu. The staff are helpful, funny and can get you a great deal on flights within Nepal. Family peace will also store your gear if you want to travel light or are off trekking.

Family Peace Guesthouse is a very nice place to stay. Friendly staff and a good price/service level. The rooms are well equiped and some rooms have balconies. On the rooftop you have a very nice view off Kathmandu valley. The staff can help you with good travel services. We can recommend this guesthouse to other travellers!
