Fantastic hostel, lovely clean rooms and very accommodating for our large group of expedition paddlers with a lot of canoe kit! Thank you. Will recommend to others.

OK for crashing en route to somewhere else but for longer term not that practical. Access easier with car. Front door left unlocked but each room has door code. Main difficulty was as you would expect of a 10-bed room - too many people on too many schedules to get a decent kip. Nice pub a short walk away but not sure about availability to purchase groceries (we arrived after shops would have closed). As I said, did the job for what we needed but wouldn't rush to return.

Cliff the owner would do well to remember that the people arriving at his hostel are paying guests and not inconveniences on his time. The stay was pleasant enough, but we arrived to a very sharp lecture about behaviour and given the distinct impression that we weren't welcome to use the bar or order food. We (9) decided to go into town as a result and avoid using the facilities. Good value / location for Ben Nevis, but reception leaves a lot to be desired.

I had a good time there, the staff was really helpful and nice and I can recommend the hostel. It probably is easiest to get around by car but otherwise there is a bus and train (doesn't run often).
