The hostel was undergoing some renovation, especially to plumbing, while I was there. At the time I was there (May 2012) even though some facilities were out of service due to renovation there was never a shortage. When the work is completed, it will be an even better faciity. Well worth the cost.

We would like to appreciate the work of the staff. The girls were always pleasant and friendly and assisted us in every way we needed. On the other side there was no cleaning of showers, toilettes and room. There was only one toilette in order on the ground floor and could not be properly closed (I got visited while using it). The computer was useful.

Owner Comment (Show)
We apologize for inconveniences related to the renovatin of the plumbing system. This is what caused the untidyness and temporary malfunction of the toilets. Here's to state that the toilets are back in order again.

I was there 3 nights and they didnt clean the toilets at all during this time. No handsoap in the toilets, no use of any kind of cleaner (chlorine, etc)Very dirty in general , disqusting toilets, the only sustaining procedure of the place that i have noticed is giving toilet paper. Very unhealthy atmosphere inside, no vendilation etc. The internet computer that is provided it is desperatly slow , imposible to check site with flash player or any king of media(maps , java content).

First time I've stayed in a hostel and I was impressed. Our week long stay was comfortable, the staff were excellent and so polite, the facilities were better than I've had in self catering hotels (and the hotels were much more expensive!). We read reviews of it being cold but even though we arrived in April the whole hostel was warm and cosy. Thanks for a brilliant holiday.

Staff were really friendly and we had all facilities we needed there. However, the building is really old so it could feel as if it is a bit dirty.

The place is very nice, but it would be great if they would clean the toilets way more often and the bed was rather worn out.

The outside of the building is in a very bad condition. Inside is better, but still seems (and smells) to be quite old anyway and not too inviting... But it is cheap and you can get a good sleep. Besides, if you need to be close to the harbour, it's an excellent location.

Good location, staff was very friendly, it was quiet and cozy, but it was rather cold at winter and the baths and toilets were not very clean.

We went in the colder, less busy months and the less busy half of the week,so there were not many guests. It is busier wed-sun.Not alot of 'atmosphere' due to this.Rooms and facilities appear to be cleanbut dated and worn. Took less than 10mins to walk to the town square, location good. Supermarket 2 mins up the road. Kitchen has half fridge/half freezer, good size a microwave and 2 hob rings. Decent amount of cupbpard space but not alot for food prep, so may be hard to prep food in busier months

From the outside the building looks very shabby and inside feels a bit like a school, however it is clean and has a very good location. We were in a six bed room which was very big so gave us all a lot of space. Would go here again as was cheap and exellent location to the Old Town, though if you're looking for something relaly nice this isn't it.

Overall the place wasn't too bad. Bathrooms could have done with a clean. Also the walls are thin so if you have some idiots playing music until 6am in the morning on your floor, like I did.... good luck with sleeping.

The location by a cross road is not the best..Its big an empty, needs some character added. Its cold outside its good to come to a cossy setting and it is not that. But it is value for money and staff are generally friendly and its clean..

the first night i got there i wanted to take a shower, but the heater pump wasn\'t working. i asked for help at the reception and a girl who was unfriendly and not very helpful told me \"i had to wait for an hour so the water got hot again\". disappointing, but the location is good. no breakfast. nice rooms, free towel.
