The owner is really nice and helpful. The location is quite far from the beach and center of town which can be good if you're looking for nature and some solitude. we had a leak from the roof and a bit of water came in when it rained. The place was well secured and we felt comfortable to leave our bags. The wifi wasn't stable and there were long periods with no connection. Also might be time to replace bed sheets, they were quite old and fuzzy. Very affordable and overall good value for money.

Thanks for a great -if too short- stay. Well equipped and pleasant dining area; maybe a tea/coffee facility could be made available for short term guests?

Although it is a bit hard to locate initially, it is truly worth the trouble. The tranquil atmosphere is a nice contrast to the busy town center which is just a few minutes away by car or motorbike. Even better, it is close to our two favourite beaches in the area, Playa Bonita and Playa Cosson. It was especially nice to have towels provided and have a clothes line to dry our stuff on since we were at the beach everyday.

We really enjoyed our stay in Fata Morgana. The location is good as it is not in the touristic area. Beaches in Las terrenas and Playa Bonita are quite close. We always felt very safe. The atmosphere was very nice and the owner was very helpful. We enjoyed being able to have permanent access to the kitchen. The room was nice and simple and we really made full use of the hammock and rocking chair. It was a very relaxing stay. Highly recommended :-)

Cosy little place with friendly staff and cute donkeys walking around in the garden. It's 2,5 kilometers to the beaches thou, a walk that takes about 30 minutes. We loved our stay here, it's perfect if you're in no hurry and have the time and will to get around by foot.

FM was exactly what I was looking for and might be a reason for my return to DR.It is away from everything yet easy to access, kind of eco-lodging which I found very hard to find in DR.The housing is perfect with wifi, kitchen, shower, bed and private hammock.Edith is very cool and looks like Tilda Swinton and the whole place has incredible charm. 20 min walking from the beach, parts of which look still virgin+all food stuff is close by. And as of Feb 2011 moto from terrenas to FM costs 35-50 pesos
