Stater there for sentimental reasons. Nothing had changed in 10 years. Worn out, no good breakfast. Anyway, love the place.

The stay was great. Certaldo is an amazing town in between Florence and Sienna. It is good to be able to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy cities and relax in the lovely setting of the hostel. Duigald is very sweet and goes out of his way to make sure your stay meets all of your expectations. The monastery is enchanting and was my favorite stop on my Italian tour. I most certainly recommend Fattoria del Bassetto to anyone looking for a true tuscan experience.

What a great place with lots of character. Tucked away in beautiful Tuscany where you can relax and enjoy Italy. Conveniently located for day trips to Siena, Florence and San Gimignano. Hospitable and friendly staff. I had a wonderful time!

Great place in the Tuscan countryside, 1 hour from Florence by train, easy to go Siena, Pisa Lucca by train. Certaldo old town very quaint and non touristy. You can do lots of things or nothing, hammocks great, great communal kitchen. Not so much hot water but is a 400 year old building. Dougall the manger very knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommend it if you want some quiet time.

Bassetto is a great alternative to the bustle of big city hostels. I wanted to see the Tuscan countryside without ponying up for an agriturismo in the hills. Bassetto is the perfect alternative: it's on the outskirts of an authentic Italian town with a train station. There's a medieval town center up on the hill (well-preserved, but not too touristy). And it's a great launch pad for awesome day trips (on foot, bike, or by car). I came for a couple nights and stayed way longer. So relaxing!

Wow what a great place. Just what I was looking for peaceful and away from the tourists. They were about to open the dorm rooms when I was there I stayed in the villa which is like a museum. Certaldo alto amazing, easy to day trips to siena, Florence, Pisa and Lucia. They run cooking classes and wine tours in the busy times and after reading the guest book they sound a lot of fun. This place is a must visit if u are in tusacany. And the cutest dogs ever. I imagine it gets booked out in summer.

Loved it! Such a beautiful place with a very relaxing atmosphere. Plenty to do and see, close to several major cities. It was very quiet while I was there. I was lucky enough to stay in the villa which is incredible. Everything was very clean and secure. Great hammocks outside to relax and read in, and a pool that opens up when the weather gets warmer. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Planning on going back next year for vacation. Fattoria Bassetto is truely a home away from home.
