The staff were incredibly friendly, gave us a free map as soon as we got there and told us all the places to visit and go out at night, which since it was our first time was great. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood but well serviced by metro, bus and nightbus. The staff went above and beyond even cleaning up after some very rude and rowdy french people so that the rest of us wouldn't have to have breakfast in a disgusting kitchen. I would definitely recommend it

I'm sorry that I gave a "poor" for the location : P but it's really not so convinient for us both to find the hostel and to get to the metro station..especially for me, because this hostel is in a kind of hill, so I have to pull my heavy suitcase to climb the hill... but except this, this hostel is very good : ) there's a cool breakfast for self-service,and every night I saw people watching fun movies... and a nice balcony.. also the warm-hearted staff of reception~ : )

I just satayed at Mellow Eco for one night, although, I found it amazing. Staff is very friendly and well informed. The area is not very central but there are buses and a metro...10min from the hostel. Being this far from the mess of the city, this hostel is very safe. Found it extreamely clean and with great cooking facilities. Next time I visit Barcelona I will stay here!! Greating to all of the staff.

we're on a group vacation that consist of 7 person (5 male and 2 female) and rent 2 separate rooms. It is an uncomportable experience when we cannot switch to be one room while the room is empty. Next time, please be flexible to customers in a group.

The room was not clean, and they jave a mess with my booking. The directors didn't do anything because they were not here until a few days later. The breakfast is poor for the money it cost. And is up in a hil so you have to walk too mich to go to the metro station.

The only "problem" is the long walk up a large stairway to the hostel from the nearest metro stop. Other than that it is a great hostel and the staff were fantastic.

I enjoyed staying in the hostel. The staff was brilliant! Everyone very helpful and friendly! The only negative comment I would have is about the building acoustic it was really loud. So if anyone wish to rest after spending all day out it will be rather difficult. And also I would suggest to the hostel to have a breakfast included in the hostel price! :) Otherwise the atmosphere and people really cool!

Only stayed for 2 nights but I loved it. It was a really cute place and very clean. It took maybe 15 minutes to get to the nearest metro stop but there was a bus stop right outside the hostel. The staff was awesome too! Edgar was a bit of a punk but he was entertaining to talk to. One of the women was really informative and told us all the best places to go. The other woman was super helpful when we were running late for our flight and called us a taxi. I would definitely recommend staying here!

I loved it here! It is spotless and everyone is so nice! They are very accommodating and make you feel welcome. I went at a time where there weren't a lot of guests but I still had a blast. The location is far away from the city but a bus stop right outside the hostel makes it very easy to go on a scenic ride to the town. I HIGHLY recommend this hostel.

The hostel is quite far from the city center and climbing the hill to the hostel is tedious. The walls were also quite thin and our room was next to the reception so that we could hear every person talking there and the music. However, the hostel is very clean and tidy.

It is a long walk from the de metro station. You have to get up a hill. So if you have have bags and stuff, be prepared! And I thought there was a roof terrace but you can't use it. So that really sucks.

location; location, the worst location for a hostel. too many drunk people staying and occupying the common areas and the staff drinking with them. I had to leave!

This place does not deserve a high rating. It's in the worst location ever.

I'd say for this hostel it's totally worth not staying in the city centre - the view from the hills is spectecular, and you actually breath fresh air - somethin rare in barcelona. second big plus is the nice staff that can take care of you personally, coz it's not one of those 2mio beds hostels that feel like a physical counterpart to facebook.

Great great great place to stay. The location is away from all the action, but it is in a beautiful, charming, quiet part of the city which makes it just lovely. Very friendly staff, very very clean facilities. Would definitely stay here again.

If you are staying in Barcelona for a short time, don't stay here. It is really far away from the centre city in a quiet suburb and it takes, realistically, about an hour getting anywhere other than to the Gracia area by bus (which is great, definitely go there for good boutique restaurants and shopping). Other than that it's a really nice hostel, clean, quiet when sleeping, great kitchen facilities etc.

it is remote from town and quite a climb too. There are a lot of 'green' slogans on all the walls-in fact it is very preachy in that regard, but in my opinion it in not significantly 'greener' than most hostels. I mean bragging about out low wattage light bulbs? ...in 2011? The staff are realy very frindly and helpful but all in all I though it was a bit on the expensive side given the location and overall lack of sophistication compared to at least 2 other Barcelona hostels.
