the pub inside is really nice and the staff lovely, but I was surprised to find my bed undone and the linen provided were not enough to do it properly,Internet connection quite expensive and not working,location quite isolated

Nice quiet location. Enjoyed having a pub downstairs. Friendly staff. Great value!

It was difficult to get a good night's sleep here. Although having keycard access and heavy, locked doors, they need to properly soften the door/lock action so every door in the place doesn't BANG shut. Unfortunately I was there at the same time as a group who made quite a lot of noise rather late. The kitchen was fairly good, although some people did leave food mess behind. I appreciated the free breakfast cereal. I only stayed one night which was fine. Would have expected the bed to be made.

Picturesque bar and outside dining area. Great fixed price evening meal deal.

Lovely and friendly place close to town. Reception closes at 10:00pm, we arrived late after bad weather on the road and no one answered the door, and there were no contact details for after hours that we could find. Thankfully we were taken in for the night elsewhere and the friendly staff were very understanding and refunded that first night. Would definitely stay again.

very basic room, noisy bathroom, not many power plugs in the room. double bed in the room was good but the bunkbed was really too soft, as in the actual bed base.

Excellent hostel or better hotel near downtown of Nelson. Clean, quiet rooms and very nice restaurant downstairs, cheap beer! Staff more than friendly. Only cons for the kitchen: time visiting the hostel one of the fridges (1/2) was broken, thermostat in the other hob was broken ( i burnt my pancake, ffs!) and the kitchen is really small. Also it would be easier to find all the utensils, cups and plates if the cupboards were tagged. Anyway, excellent hostel.

There was a notice in our room saying no noise after 10pm however there was a party in the courtyard below that certainly didn't adhere to this..
